Intense 6.6 SS

I’ve been offered a frame by a mate for £900 – worth a punt?

I’ve had two of them and would definitely have another. If it’s the SS2 frame then the price is okay. If it’s the SS1 frame then he’s about £200 too high.

What’s the difference beteen the two?

If it does then it is an Intense Slopestyle, otherwise it’s an Intense 6.6.

The Slopestyle frame does not often come up for sale but 900 sounds allot. What shock does it have?

BTW, if it’s the above then it will be bloody brilliant! I’ve put a reverb on mine now and just use it for trail riding and it’s still bloody brilliant. Over kill, yes, but I don’t care!

6.6 has a steeper head angle and standard dropouts, integral to the chainstays/seatstays . . .

Slopestyle has bolt-on dropouts like Dans pic up there . . .

Slopestyle II doesn’t have the bolt-on separate dropouts, has the shock mount on the down tube and is a touch more curvy . . .

Sold my first generation Slopestyle for £800ish last year.

Note that on the SS1 you can fit a font mech and it has a full length seat tube and routing for an uppy downy post. SS2 looks great though!

I have one but just use it for gravity assisted stuff, like it a lot but would rather have a ‘proper’ dh bike now, its quite flexy when really pushed and the bearings don’t last very long on mine, its very well balanced though especially when leaving the ground

Don’t use enduro bearings. Use SKF, they last much longer.

It’s the SS1, with the replaceable dropouts.

Edit: Oh, and it’s got a DHX 5 coil.

Think ed o was selling one recently. Same price but had a CCDB on it.

Watch out for the dropouts on the SS1, had mine replaced under warranty, think they are £70 a piece.

And in the flip side. Mine have been fine, and still are.
