Try Gavin Clark a bit less rythmical in style. Underrated genius. Wrote many of the sound tracks to Shane meadows films. Tragically died very recently in his forties.

He was the Gavin Clark who was in sunhouse, clayhill and did vocals for UNKLE. Thete is another musician with the same name. I, erm, like his music less…

You’ll find plenty of his tunes on YouTube and spotify (who can’t differentiate between the two Gavin Clarks)

Not sure if this is quite what you’re after. rough and dirty in places, but sad and bittersweet too. and funny.

Thanks for reminding me of William Elliot Whitmore, Nick. His cover of Don’t Prey On Me was my favourite song on the Bad Religion cover album but I never got round to checking his own stuff.
