Managed a 4 hour run on black coffee and a couple of boiled eggs today.

    I’ll admit I was hungry afterwards, but I survived…

    Today’s food:

    Brekkie – eggs and sausage
Lunch – more eggs and peas (not very creative that one)
    3 tiny choccies
    Pre-workout – coke
    1 hour run
    Post-workout – coke
Dinner – Huge plate of cauli, green beans and carrots with some lamb shoulder
    Bedtime – toast (oops)

I’m really getting my veg in on this diet!

Can you have coke then if it’s sugar free..?

No, and I had sugared coke because I went on a long run. It’s in the rules.

No, cos I went on a run. It’s right there in the diet plan, you have simple carbs around your exercises.

    You exercise ………shocking

Molly – you’re awful at following the rules.

I’m a convert though now. I feasted on delicious iDiet compliant meals Saturday and Sunday cooked by a pioneering iChef.

This morning I weigh 160lbs so have lost 4lbs in 2 days… what’s not to like. Plus I still get to sit here eating porridge as I’ve swam this morning.

TSY – how’s your legs today? Did you enjoy the little hills?

    TheSouthernYeti

Legs are fine – back is a little stiff though. Bloody Garmin conked out so I have no record of the ride though, which is annoying!

    How about you?

Also, did you manage to draft much on the way round? I was on my own for all but 10k.

I did 10 mins with three guys near the end, a bit of through and off. Otherwise on my own the whole time. I can send you a link to my GPS thing, you can print it off and write your name at the top.

58kg on Saturday morning. Pretty pleased with how stable my weight has remained as I’ve hardly been taking any exercise for the last four months. I’m just starting to up the effort and distance now the calf /achilles injury is at last over, it’s definitely feeling stonger each day.

The rules didn’t quite work for me the way I wanted, so I have adjusted them. I like to experiment and learn rather than blindly follow 🙂

iKonw, iKnow, you just want to be part of the iClub, without actually attending the iVents.

so how much weight have you lost now Molly after being on your version of the diet for probably about a year ?

yeti, if you look like Rassmussen (sp?), you need to steer well clear of the idiet. 😀

Keva, stuck at between 84 and 86kg. However.. my ultimate aim is not to lose weight, but be fast on the bike. I’m still working on the balance.

    TheSouthernYeti

ton – thankfully I don’t! Closer to the boxer one (in my mind anyway)

Molly – I reckon you’ve got 10kg to go. You’re a pretty similar build to me?

    molgrips

Similar I suppose.. although I can’t see how it’d be possible for me to lose 10kg.

There’s this diet I’ve heard about that when followed to the letter is supposed to achieve good results!

What’s your waist measurement? I never thought I’d get below 33″, then I thought I’d never get below 32″… now I’m just over 30″.

I’ve dropped a stone in the last year and didn’t think it was possible.

    TheSouthernYeti

Here’s an iDea. Why don’t you post a picture of yourself up so we can see whether we think it’s possible?

    molgrips

How will you know from the picture?

I’ve dropped a stone in the last year and didn’t think it was possible

Yes by devoting far more time to it than I have available. Bear in mind I am also a stone lighter than I was a year ago.

Can see where it looks like you’re carrying excess muscle / fat?

Lifting weights has given me reasonbly ‘good’ arms. Sod all use for riding a bike though.

I’ll do this appraisal for free this time.

Yes by devoting far more time to it than I have available.

iKnow a man that for a fee will provide you with more success than my regime does but at less than 8 hours a week?

Can see where it looks like you’re carrying excess muscle / fat?

What difference does that make? Surely you are aware that you can’t lose fat from a particular area by exercising it…?

As for 8 hours a week – I wish. Currently scavenging around three, but haven’t for a few weeks hence being at the upper end of the range.

Friend me on Endomondo if you want to see what I’m up to.

at least you’ve lost a stone then Molly..

I guess I could post a picture of me so you can see what I look like from cycling two miles back and forth to work and doing half hour of yoga three times a week, for four months… but I won’t.

That’s where following this iDiet thing would help 😉

We all have different aims and regimes Kev and bodies. If I did what you’ve been doing I wouldn’t be gaining much speed on the bike, endurance on foot or swimming technique or stamina 🙂

That’s where following this iDiet thing would help

You seem to forget I’ve been doing it for a year. You don’t read my posts very well do you?

    TheSouthernYeti
    Free Member

I don’t think you read the iDiet sheet very well 😉 Do you reckon you’re at 10-12% yet?
Plus I reckon you might find that yoga has greater benefits than you’d first imagine.

Keva – have you ever done Hot Yoga?

    molgrips
    Free Member

Not sure you understand the issues involved here Yeti. The diet sheet didn’t say ‘you are guaranteed to get to 12% bf and the diet is guaranteed to fuel all your training whatever it might be, whatever your physiology’ when I read it.

Yoga – yes, it looks great, no problems with that. It’s just not on my list right now.

My personal opinion Mol is that you seem to overcomplicate things. The people that it has worked best for… Just Do It!

They don’t question, don’t adapt, don’t decide they’re different, they just get on with it.

From reading their posts they’re quicker to ditch the chocolate, the fizzy drinks, the rubbish.

Some are fitter than either you or I. Some of them are exercising more than we do. Some of them are better racers than either of us.

I agree with TSY here. Have you ever just given it a try for a couple of weeks, as is, just to see what occurs? If I remember right, you have never followed it properly.

As for finding the time….the losing weight bit is all about the diet, which takes no time at all.

    Gah.

    Keva

Molly, yep I know 😉 I’ve actually been losing fitness all round for the last four months because of my injury. It’s not been a happy time for me the last few months but at least now I can start to get out again. Physio said a third of percived effort for one month, then two thirds for the second month then work back to full fitness in the third month. So at least, if I can behave myself and keep it low for while I should be back up to where I was by the summertime, which I have to do, I cannot afford to over cook anything.

Yeti, I think that’s Bikram yoga? nope, not tried it. I’m starting Satria again tonight for the first time since August! All I’ve been able to do recently is stuff at home which I’ve remembered.

Yeti, you seem to forget that I started just doing it and it didn’t work very well. So I started modifying it and got better results.

Sometimes things ARE complicated. Like human physiology for instance. Yes, some people have followed to the letter and had no ill effects, but we aren’t all the same, are we?

Why on earth would you assume that one size would fit all? I still stick to the principles, I just have a little more simple carbs, that’s all.

I agree with TSY here. Have you ever just given it a try for a couple of weeks, as is, just to see what occurs? If I remember right, you have never followed it properly.

See above. Followed it to the letter for two weeks, and ended up barely being able to turn the pedals on my bike, and that’s not an exaggeration.

As for finding the time….the losing weight bit is all about the diet, which takes no time at all

Yes, and that’s why I am frickin doing it! When I talked about having time I was talking about the training. I’m not just trying to get skinny, I’m trying to get fast on the bike. So there’s a balancing act.

    TheSouthernYeti

But haven’t you reduced the amount of exercise you’re doing since then?
