Hello all, I bought a 2013 mega tr frame in november which was barely used and fitted some revs and ss wheels. Near new bike for little. Love it, its way more capable than me.

Bout 6 months old, LBS’s keep trying to make me feel bad about it, while trying to sell me 2 grand frames from the brands they have the biggest margin on!! and that I will never be able to get new wheels or a fork again (ignoring the difference between OE and after-market suppliers). Ohhhhhhhhhh nooooooooooooooooo must throw it away then duhhhhhhhhhhh before it bursts into flames, joins al-qaeda and decapitates my children.

I reward these super salesmen by buying nothing they sell, coz they so clever and me so simple. Obviously you won’t be able to buy new OE built bikes with 26 inch components, can’t see ALL after-market suppliers completely dropping the standard over-night, given the amount of 26ers in circulation around the globe.

2010 Zesty. My 26″ HTs (Soul and Chameleon) have just been ousted by a Soul275.

Zesty is still going strong although in Trigger style only the frame is original now. No plan to replace anytime soon as after the last big rebuild when I replaced everything it rides too well to allow any justification other than tartiness or a total change of taste in bikes.

Only 26″ I have now is a raleigh amazon rigid mtb from early 90’s that is used as my commuter, just done a hub service on it, all still working on original bearings! (headset, BB, hubs)

Bought a 456 EVO II last year and used a 09 Pitch as a donor. The only parts left from the Pitch will be cranks and wheels to be fair.

Test rode a Trek Fuel (650b) at the weekend, I can’t say the wheel size made any difference tbh.

though it’s status as my only mountain bike is going to change with the addition of a new 29″ hardtail (a Shand Bahookie that’s currently being just been painted).

What’s with that shand, it looks like it’s on the floor and gigantic.

2013 Stumpjumper Evo, bought in June 2013. I will retire it probably in 2017, unless I’m skint. I’d rather have another 26″ as its replacement but if there aren’t any about a 650 will have to do.

2014 Canyon Strive, 10 months old, have replaced all pivot bearings, chain and upgraded to Hope E4 brakes. My mates 29er Spesh Enduro beats it up the climbs with its billy big wheels, but he can’t keep up on the DH’s against my nimble little 26″ wheels. The 650b guys in our Wednesday Night Lakes riding group seem to be in the middle of the range, OK going up and down hills, but don’t seem to excel at either 🙂

On the right, a seam in the floor lines up perfetly with the edge of the table. On the left, objects break up the table outline. It’s a fairly good optical illusion for me too.

Our lass has a 2011 Orange Diva built with parts from the 2007 Clockwork.

2011. Giant Trance X built up from frame only.

I feel like I’ve got to keep it running now just to stick it to the man over 650b. That’s probably just because I’m a stubborn & cynical arse though.

Biggest problem at minute seems to be finding a decent set of 26″ forks with a straight steerer that doesn’t cost a million pounds 🙂

Original Nukeproof Mega with Pikes and a c456 with 2 degree Slackset & lowered 36’s. Both bikes have Pro2/Flow wheels & I have lots of tyres. Unless I break a frame or come into money, I’m keeping em.

I agree on the forks issue. I managed to get a nice set of 120 Reba’s last summer. I’m really, really trying to look after them as well!

Having just had a look over on Merlin’s site I suspect I’ll end up with a set of Reba’s for the Turner too!

I got some Revs from Alltricks for £225. They’ve got Reba’s for less too.

Thanks breadcrumb – Revs are a bit too long for the Flux but I’ll have a look at the Reba’s.

    Alpine 160 26. 7 months old (ish).

Bought the frame in August last year. all the parts on it (bar the Reverb) are at least a year older than that as originally bought for the Rocket build that never happened…

2012 Cotic Rocket, hasn’t been ridden for a while because it’s no fun dragging to through gloop, I use the Sherpa for that. Will be out again with its tiny wee wheels as things get drier.
