On her own record label it seems.

Obviously not good enough for a major - unlike all those talentless, auto-tuned, x-factor types.

I don't think many musicians give much of a toss about being on a major label any more, it's so much easier to set up your own label, have complete control over every aspect of what you do, and arrange a deal with a distributor to help get stuff into such record stores as still exist.
Belly, for example, having come back after twenty years away, now do everything themselves, production, management, promotion, the works. It's more work, but with everything in-house, there's total control over budget, and nothing siphoned off by middlemen.
Kate Bush has been doing this for many years, EMI are only there for promotion and distribution.

She's great. Interesting video but don't see the connection with the song, perhaps I am not the target age group though 😉

PS sarf lundin is great

Sounds like so many others from the last decade .Nothing original in her sound or the backing track.

Country music seems to keep going with nothing being original for the last x decades...

I disagree though as I listen to that genre of music a lot, and that has a lot of soul in it and her voice.

Maybe for someone who doesn't major on those genres it does not distinguish itself so much, but I think it is class.

Here's something else with a similar feel that I really like - this time from Poland (Natalia Przybysz and Paulina Przybysz) 🙂

Not my bag really but I like the sentiment. Here's where I am:

Can't beat a good cagoul(sp) in a pop video!

Fair play and good luck to her.

Not my taste, though - a bit "lift music".

That Honeyblood song was interesting because of the video, which was bijou and rather fun. I drifted away from the song though.

Cool that (OP one). Some nice bass going on there. Little bit too poppy for me, but yeah enjoyed that.
from South London - Does she sing in a completely American accent though? Prefer Little Sims, cos she does it in her real accent.

most people drop their accents though when singing - I don't really like singers carrying their accent on - in particular Irish 'music'.

The Little Simz is bordering on the edge of a rap/spoken word/grime though, isn't it.

I think that's partly why I like grime stuff (not all of it) cos they sound English. That and the bass. And Madchester era bands.
One person I can no longer listen to, cos of his diabolically fake American singing accent, is Richard Ashcroft. Didn't used to notice, but it bugs the hell out of me now.
I digress 🙂

Nice that.
How about this young lady, from Colchester. Been a while since the album "Salt" came out, but it was lush and gorgeous.

Pretty dull and generic. Nothing that hasn't been done many times before.
