We’re not. Hot office, no AC due to it being a listed building, fan on full, shorts being worn, still sweating like a (insert choice here)…

I’m off to buy ice creams soon though.

Been sat in this heat changing the rear hub on the car – hot. 37.7°C being the peak on my thermometer and 32.5° in the shade right now.

The problem occurred not with seized nuts; they were easy with my 900mm wrench. No, the problem was trying to Wahl my head bald before bathing. I was so sticky it was like being covered in slow setting adhesive – juddering all over the shop. The cut, as you’d expect, is far from perfect but my hair’s so light in the summer you have to be really close just to see it.

Other than that – lovely stuff. More, please, sun gods…

I’m sat at my desk in rural Somerset with all the doors and windows wide open, bit scared that I’m going to have to step outside soon…

The short answer is “I’m not”

My office is a cool 35deg the roll floor is 47deg and about 100% humidity, the mill control room is the coolest place at 18deg due to aircon but I can’t work from there 🙁

I don’t think it’s possible to get any cooler, tbh.

Did a 12hr shift last night standing next to a ploymer machine that pumps out molten poly granules @320 degrees. Got back home and tried to get some sleep on the hottest day of the year so far…..Failed miserably 😐

I was in a lovely air conditioned office today having driven their in our MX5. Then there was a bang, and all the lights went off and the fire alarm started. So we all trooped out and I carried on going as apparently it takes ages to sort it out. Watched two fire engines scream round the corner. In Cheltenham this is a bit of an event 😉

Got back in (Very hot) car, drove to FoD to pick up some forks. Had an ice cream. This seemed a better way to pass the afternoon than standing in a hot car park waiting to be let back into a building.

Lovely walk along the river Severn at Arley then in to Bewdley for a Lovingtons ice cream (scoop of rhubarb and custard and a scoop of stem ginger)

Lovely out 38* by the cars thermometer

Day out riding at Bike Park Wales.

    Very dry, very dusty.

It was hot, very hot. But good fun as usual.

Spent it in bed was on nights last night. All windows open for patients. Made the most of the air conditioning in the clean utility room.

Woke up about an hour ago and had a cool shower. Lovely weather.

went for a ride this morning and it was more pleasant out on the bike than sitting here in front of a fan blowing warm air at me 🙂

Why does my car not have an air con vent under the steering wheel, blowing an icy blast straight at my ballsack?

What do we reckon, Kickstarter or Dragon’s Den for this?

Went for a stroll at lunchtime, coming back to the office was like walking into a fridge. I was thinking I might have to find an excuse to work in one of the servers rooms, but not required at the Bristol office today.

Feel very sorry for overweight people on days like this. How do they cope? 🙁

Been very busy in a hot workshop all day. Lots and lots of iced water is the key to survival. Fans are useless as they just circulate hot air more effectively. Just off to do some photos of a time trial; need to find a shaded bit as a good vantage point.

Have 1 slightly selfish woman in an office of 30 men who turns AC up any time she can.
So came in at 6am, turned AC down to 20c, then sellotaped the perspex cover that sits over the controller, so it looks like it had been locked off by maintenance.
    It’s been lovely.
    In garden now, too warm.
Might have to fall in the kids paddling pool.

    Top tip

A bottle of mouthwash (the kind that still contains denatured alcohol) with a hole carefully pierced on the top, gives a great cooling effect to clothes when liberally applied.

Works great at night on Jim-jams etc.

Went for a walk in the Moorfoot Hills (it was pretty warm) then had a swim in Gladhouse reservoir – lovely and cold!

A good day to be unemployed.

currently 27.5º indoors but the laptop and a raid drive plus monitor are pushing that up, probably as hot as it is going to get indoors.

Just a shame it wasn`t 27.2,it may have made the room come alive 😀

The mouthwash also works well at cooling down insect bites…careful near camp fires, etc.

There’s some areas you don’t want to douse with mouthwash…

    So, for your ‘bettys’…

Cycled up Minch Moor at Inners to find a breeze, it was nice but the flies wanted lunch, so I biked back down again and forgot all about the heat for 30 odd minutes.

Spent the day in an airconditioned office. For once, it was the right temperature!

I made up for the all day comfort by spending an hour and a bit in a train. A slow moving train with tiny windows and no form of aircon. I had lots of company though, which was nice. 😕

The kids went to bed about 15 minutes ago, I am now happily ensconced in their paddling pool, which is conveniently within arms reach of the BBQ.

butt naked, blinds down windows open slightly. getting obsessed with airflow and holding a piece of rice paper in the breeze to check that air is moving from the shady side of the flat (bathroom) to the sitting/bedroom that are now in the shade.

Same here minus the butt naked bit though 😆

Not bothered by the heat too much but trying to get some air moving to cool the little ones room down, I’m like a home airflow ninja now 8) Was 33 degrees in our engineering workshop today, the good thing was the office staff had to suffer the same as they haven’t had their air conditioning fitting yet 😆

12 mile ride back to the car mostly uphill got me nice and hot. Went for a swim in the river before driving home. I’m sure there was a hiss of steam as I got into the river.
