It’s not my name, but I’m Scottish (although I’ve lived in England for the past 31 years and can’t even do a passable Scottish accent).
In my first job in the city I worked at a bank with a bunch of cockney types who insisted on nicknames for everyone…they called me Hamish.
Hamish was already taken so I stuck a Mc on the front.
If I was more creative I would have thought of something hilarious and clever.
I was McSpikey when down south i had very short hair and was grumpy with idiots and a Jock so……
