Heating element on the main oven has gone (neff u1721n2gb fd 8410)

    Taken the back plate off

Can get four of the screws holding the element in place out ok.

But one of the screws holding the element in place is behind the actual fan (!)

How do I get at it? Hopefully this will make sense to cooker folk!

Sorted. Undid the motor bolts for the fan. Waggled the fan to get at the bolt.

Change the element but the oven still doesn’t work. Grr!

    Have you checked the fuse?

If the element has gone it will normally have a tiny hole or pinprick in the element where it has gone porous. Check the thermostat now. Hindsight says to check thermostat first. Elements don’t last forever so keep the original one for a spare if it’s OK.

Do check you have set the clock ,otherwise oven won’t work!
Also there should be 3 spade connectors on the element; are you sure there’s not a wire loose behind the back panel?

The top oven works ok so I’m assuming the fuse is alright?

The old element looks ok so next job the thermostat. I’m assuming that’s the metal bar thingy in the oven (technical term there!)
