Probably going to get a lot of piss taking for this, but I’ve been sporting a fine bit of facial fuzz for a couple of years now and used to use hair clippers to stop me going full tramp.

The clippers died recently and I’ve noticed there’s an awful lot of specialist men’s face grooming equipment out there, are they any better?

    Or can anyone recommend some?

Clip with something decent once you can’t sup a pint clean…
Or I used to visit a proper barber once a month or before important meetings for a shape and trim

Any old cheap beard trimmer – Remington, Braun?

Get beard trimmer remove the always useless* guard.

Shower , comb, run unguarded trimmer over any tufts to bring everything back in line.

Safety razor round DE razor round the edges and neck.

And Barbers as above when true neatness is required.

*I have really really thick curly beard it either come to an abrupt halt or is just ineffective at trimming to desired length.

Depends on what length you want to trim to, and how much beard yo have to trim.

I have a Panasonic ER-GB40. Its nice and small, much easier to use than a bulky hair trimmer. It’s waterproof, so it can be used in the shower (not by bag). It has good battery life, can do three trims between charges so don’t need to pack charger when going away. It has a single adjustable and removable length guard, rather than lots of different sizes. And it adjusts in 0.5mm increments up to 10mm – that might not be long enough if you want a proper hipster beard.

Couldn’t you just initiate some sort of conversation, see if there are any shared interests and go from there?

Take it slowly and don’t scare them off, is my advice..

Yes, safety razor is good to start with. 😆

I’ve only ever used a pair of proper beard scissors and a nice wooden beard comb. I Trim round the month once a week and a good beard shape and tidy up once a month. People don’t realize the effort involved in keeping a beard.

Scissors for me. To be honest, I’d sculp mine more if I could 😳 As soon as a gust of wind blushes past, there’s wiry hairs sticking out all over the place.
