Can anyone recommend a decent service/ repair instruction book? I really need something with good photos/diagrams and find that the “Zinn’s” illustrations look like my 2 year old did them – following the text is also a nightmare.

This of course is an attempt to teach myself some maintenance skills which will no doubt end in me carrying various pieces to my LBS to finish for me…

It depends how much detail you want… The Park Blue book is pretty good, and for a more general, lower tech book, the Haynes manual isn’t bad either.
But the internet is your friend really as there are pretty good photos and videos of virtually all maintenance stuff out there in the WWW somewhere… (again, the Park Tools website is a good place to start)

Have you seen the Park tools online repair guide:

TBH this has been all I use.

Though if you find it more helpful maybe their “Big Blue Book of Bike Repair” book is for you.
