Any recommendations for a lunch stop, just off the motorway, with easy parking? Anywhere between Falkirk and Dunblane really.

The baker’s on the high street used to be excellent. Steak sausage rolls were amazing. Not been through there in at least ten years now, mind you, so take that recommendation with the tiniest pinch of salt.

Dunblane: Beech tree is great. Home made cakes, nice brews, lovely staff:

If you’re ok outdoors under a shelter then Garden Centre has James coffee shop. Loads of parking. https://maps.app.goo.gl/sACZNdYtC6efv2u36

Lots of folk like Tilly Tearoom, but I find it too crowded. https://maps.app.goo.gl/48oPpuRUHwbuMuXN6

Or I can put the kettle on…

I ate in the beach tree last week and have previously stopped there mid-road-ride. I would second Matt’s recommendation.

James coffee shop has proven to be far more reliable that Matt’s house has been for me – only tried a few times, but no service so I’ve had to go elsewhere (I suspect this is more to do with them seeing me walking up the drive and just not answering the door!)

    James coffee shop…

Very much this. The bagels are awesome, good coffee, and the cinimon rolls are ridiculous in scale and tasteyness. James Speciality Coffee Bar for your google searching. Also super close to the motorway so an easy turn-off.

Friend of Mine in Bridge of Allan is exceptionally good. Beech Tree is a nice traditional type snacky cafe place, same with the Tilly Tearoom. Both nice. There is quite often a fancy dan coffee “food van” at the Kilbryde Tree Nursery place just outside Dunblane. It is supposed to be good, but I’m not a coffee drinker, so can’t attest to that.

In addition to the above, I always try and stop in at Ciao in Bridge of Allan, my preferred sort of coffee (dark Italian, it’s like the Laphroaig of coffee 😎) and nice pastries or some of the best pizza slices I’ve had in Scotland, lovely.

Also not really on topic but since I sometimes combine it in one ride with a stop at James Coffee Bar and Ciao: Mhor Bakery in Callander, spectacular. Can ride from Auchterarder – Braco – Dunblane (James Coffee Bar) – Doune – Callander (Mhor Bakery) – Thornhill – Doune – Bridge of Allan (Ciao) – Auchterarder.
