On "normal" rides you would find you have to put more effort into having fun. More to do with the weight than the supension travel or geometry IMO though.
Basically, the Reign X is a pretty playful bike for it's travel, it encourages you to do more and more and seek out the rough lines to pop off things. They jump brilliantly, the geometry is spot on, and the weight is all pretty low in the frame… But the weight will be a real bind on climbs, you'll have to drop to your easiest gear and sit and spin very soon on a climb, whilst your mates are still in their middle ring and out of the saddle stomping on the pedals.
I've ridden mine on slow group xc rides for a laugh, and I coped fine. But I struggled like mad doing a lap of whites level at Afan trying to keep up with 2 fast boys! They left me for dead, then I was too knackered to enjoy the downhills anyway as a result! If the pace is slow though, and you're prepared to endure slow and steady uphills in order to beat everyone else on the way down, the Reign X is a mighty fine beast. And it's also probably the most capable allrounder in the 170mm travel bracket there is, whilst also handling like a mini DH bike on the way down…
