    Anyone done this already?

I’m thinking with some left over bits and an alpkit wheelset I could throw together a 1x B+ bikepacking machine as I have the frame sat there doing nowt.

Mine is the race frameset, not that I suppose it makes any odds…..

Don’t see why not if you’ve got the clearance between the chain stays. Something like a WTB Trailblazer 2.8″ comes up only slightly larger than a correctly sized 29er tyre like the Bonty XR4 2.35″ (by slightly larger I mean Bontrager would call it 2.45″)

Mate of mine managed to squeeze Panaracer Fat B Nimble at the back of his High Latitude. It’s a version with ss dropouts though… I shall see him next week so will take some measurements and do some pics for you.

I’m sure you could fit Knard tyre up front with “normal” rim as that’s what I’ve had in my old Fortitude Adventure.

Can you post some pics of the clearance with your existing rubber?

I’m sure the fork will be fine, biggest thing I’ve got to try is a 2.4 X King 29″ on aan Arch Ex rim, I’ll try it when I can & post a photo.

Ive got one and have tried this.

    Fork is fine.

Rear is far too tight even with a 2.8″ and the ability to place the wheel in the horizontal dropouts still didn’t help 🙁

I tried with a Hugo rim. A 25mm rim may work but kind of negates the point.
