Front & Rear mudguards- Gravel Bike

Hello,
What are people using to contain splashing on a gravel bike? Much thinner wheels makes me think I should look at a road bike solution but I’m a bit reluctant to go down the full SKS Raceguard Pro route. Something handy to snap on front and rear.

I’ve found the rear one of these to be good. I keep meaning to try the front as well, but a classic Crud Catcher does me well enough on the front.

Mudhugger/gravelhugger on the front, nothing on the back.

45mm SKS Bleumels on mine

I use an Ass saver to keep my butt dry and dont worry too much about the rest.
You are either going to be dry but stopping every ten minutes to clear out your guards or you will get wet but be able to ride care free.

Those SKS Bleumels do look good but I’ve heard it’s a bit of a faff getting them on.

Zefal Swan and Croozer for me. Ideal on tyres up to about 40mm. I have 47’s on my Fugio and the guards are a little narrow but still work a treat really and go on and off in seconds

Zefal Swan and Croozer for me too. Only about £15 for the pair. Tried fixing sks bluemels but caused toe overlap, which made the bike feel awkward. Also tire clearance was poor with 42mm width and grit kept on getting caught, causing the guards to ping off and misalign. I would go for mtb type clip on anyday, they may not have the coverage of a full guard, but so much easier to fit and hassle free. check out the zefal or sks range.

Using Crud rear guard (slighter narrow version in twin pack) and mudhugger front.

On my proper (best) gravel bike, I don’t have mudguard mounts, so make do with an ass-saver on the rear and a mucky nutz gut fender under the downtube. Its fine for keeping the worst off when the trails are mixed. But in current conditions you still get filthy.

On my SSXC, I’ve got full mudguards, the SKS Al Edge. They are wonderful, rock solid (much more so than the plastic Blumels), and this has been my most used bike of late. Not had any issues about them getting clogged up. Still get some splash over shoes & shins, but the rest of me stays dry and mud free. Game-changer!

Zefal swan on the rear. Very effective. Keeps the mud and spray under control so I don’t sit in a muddy puddle for hours.

Nothing on the front at the minute but I had thought of putting a mucky nutz style guard on the front when it is really wet.
