fox transfer or rockshox reverb

Hi all I’m in the market for a dropper post I’m after 150mm drop and internally routed. The question is do I get the reverb or wait for the fox transfer to come out. Any advice would be appreciated.

Reverb is good, bound to get lots of comments about reliability (personally mine have been fine, but lots of people have issues), but SRAM’s backup is good.

I’ve got a transfer (external routing) on my hardtail and have found it to be smooth in action. I ended up going for the bontrager lever (18 rather than fox at 50) and it’s easy to route and light in action. I can’t comment on reliability as I’ve only had it a little while but fox posts have generally got a good reputation for reliability, with good backup from Mojo.

If you think the hydro aspect is annoying and want the simplicity of cable then go fox, otherwise I’d probably just buy the cheapest.

Got a reverb with a DeHy attachment. If I was to buy again I’d get a bike yoke revive

Does this not work the same as that infamous crank bros one which shat itself all the time?

I have a reverb stealth, and a KS lev Integra.

In use, the KS is miles better, remains to be seen if it’s more reliable, as I’ve only had it for a few weeks.

Only used the transfer for 3 rides though so long term reliability TBC.

Wouldn’t have a Reverb. I went to buy a Transfer, but they ran out of stock, so I got a BikeYoke Revive and have been very pleased with it so far.

For the leftfield options the CB Highline is getting good reviews will no real talk of failures (and if it does it’s a cartridge swap not a full rebuild)

The post scores top marks for durability. It survived some impressive crashes in the boulders without any indications that harm was done. The sliding bushings are still intact and the post does not rock. The two-key indexing system also held well. To date, the side play is negligible—pretty much what I experience with reputable brand’s posts when they are fresh in their boxes.

Pinkbike’s Take:
Crankbrothers did well to make the Highline an exemplary dropper. If its only reason to exist was to assure loyal fans that the brand has returned stronger and more committed than it has ever been, the Highline would be a win. That said, if I didn’t know anything about Crankbrothers, I’d still recommend it to anyone in search of a pro-quality 125-millimeter-stroke dropper post. Now, where’s that 150-millimeter version? – RC
