If it wasn’t for Luke Shaw and Maguire it would have been 4-0 or worse.

Ironically his positional error ruled out the undeserved equaliser.

Props to Luke Shaw as well for coming back from injury not three stone overweight.

I’ve been eating all the pies on his behalf, ensuring none are available in the Manchester area

Just watching a full replay. Think I said after we beat them in the Carabao Cup that I couldn’t believe how poor man u were but last night was unbelievable. How the hell were they higher up the league than us before this game? Rashford was a disgrace, not seen a prima-donna non-performance like that in a long time.

How the hell were they higher up the league than us before this game?

Because, apart from City, in October and November, they played some weak teams and scrapped past them. Luton at home 1-0, Sheff Utd away. 2-1

That’s the same Sheff utd who Burnley turned over 5-0 yesterday.

Man Utd have quite a tough December coming up.

So Newcastle play Sunderland in the FA Cup for the 1st time since 1956!

Oh wow! I don’t know whether to be ecstatic or terrified. What’s most interesting though is none of these toon players will have played in tyne-wear derby before. I’m sure the likes of Burn and Longstaff will enlighten the rest of the squad about what’s involved.

To be fair, it’s a free hit for SAFC.

    Not really expected to win.

We also have City and Liverpool either side of the tie.

I’m fully expecting the NUFC injury list to be extended/continued after this match

What’s cracking set of games this afternoon so far! Liverpool stole that one! Hopefully we get an entertaining draw from city and spurs…

Son scoring at both ends in 2 minutes?

Staying onside twice in a game? Whatever next? 😂

Absolute definition of a no win for Newcastle. Whoever they put out, if they win of course they were supposed to. But after a crammed winter fixture list, and with the injury list they have, I can see being forced to a weakened team and thrown into a bearpit.

Unless Eddie can persuade the owners and some players to an early January transfer and introduce them to the beautiful game English style by being kicked repeatedly into the air at 150mph.

Anyway, more sublime goals being scored for fun at Portman Road…..

Great time to be a Town fan. Witnessing some truly excellent football under Kieran McKenna.

Oh cripes, he really is sticking with the high line.   I predict more goals in the second half.

    I’ve had a punt on 5-1.

Could be more if he’s going to stick with this suicidal high line

The Etihad when they scored their first equaliser. It sounded like the away fans cheering, it was that quiet. 😂

As a Wolves fan, I have recently become very cynical towards refs and VAR.
It goes to show that even the Champions are subject to some bewildering refereeing!

Watching the City players surrounding the ref when a decision doesn’t go their way…it’s a bit like watching Keane, Neville etc back when Utd. used to win things, if anyone can remember. The petulance comes from the top down of course.

Ten goals conceded in four games, three without a win in the league, away to Villa next with Rodri suspended…..bit of a wobble.

Looks like MOTD is not worth watching tonight.

December 16th please. Looking forward to the trip from Bristol for that one!

Villa season ticket holder here. We’ve got Citeh on Wednesday and Arsenal on Saturday.
Won every home game this season but I think it’s time to watch these two as a lover of the beautiful game rather than as a Villa fan.

@BigJohn – I honestly think you’re being a bit harsh there. As a neutral I think that sounds like two fantastic games. Villa are playing some great football (I never thought I’d say that!) and I don’t think either of those are foregone conclusions by any stretch

    Just watched it on MotD

It was a poor decision. But if the keeper hadn’t dived over one, and if Haaland could hit an open goal from 10 metres then it wouldn’t have mattered.

But yes, it’s the ref’s fault they didn’t win.

Just watching the MOTD November Goal of the Month contenders and there are 7 absolute screamers.

The standard of football we’re watching at the moment in this league is insane. We’ve got a potential goal of the season with Garnacho and we’re shite!

and even now the Liverpool v Fulham game shows that there are more special goals to be scored. Absurd.

Garnacho’s was off the chart, but I posted up YouTube clips on this thread of Sarabia and Olise, both absolutely WTF?! goals

You’ve already got a few contenders for Decembers. Like I said; the quality we’re presently seeing from the top players in this league is absolutely bonkers!

Aside from the goals what marks it out is the intensity and the clinical execution. Can you imagine the likes of Gazza or Steve Bruce coping with today’s game with their hangovers and beer bellies? It’s a very different game to 20-30 years ago.
