The ones that need to be done from time to time with the Greenland wax.

If anyone has done this, can you get a nice clean finish like you’d be happy wearing round the town or does it turn out blotchy or streaky?

I spent ages doing one, used a hairdryer to melt the wax in. Quite a therapeutic process, but the results were a smidge too patchy at close range, looks worn rather than neat like a new waxed jacket. All told, I think I’d have been better just bunging it in the washing machine and blasting it with nikwax.

I’ve reproofed mine a few times (a greenland winter parker) – i do a section at a time then melt it into the fabric with a hair dryer. Goes on fine, no streaks or patchiness. It’s pretty easy to do but takes a while.

Wax block, not too much, hairdryer. Looks a bit idd for about 2 wears. Then it’s fine. Repeat.

Use a hair dryer. Pretty even finish if you don’t add too much with the wax block, or it will go blotchy, you can always add more

Apply in stages using a hair dryer. I’ve a black jacket – no patches.

I love my Fjallraven jacket. It’s perfect for when I don’t want to be either warm or particularly dry 😀

Anyone tried using the Barbour wax instead? Is it the same stuff, just I’ve got a bit of the barbour wax left and could do with waxing the knees of my trousers.

That does pretty much confirm my opinion of their jackets…
