Fitting a new door and frame

Just taken delivery of a new pair of doors and matching frame which I will be fitting myself.
The frame and doors are already prepped (holes drilled etc) for the hinges but do I fit the hinges to the doors first then the frame or to the frame first and then to the doors?
Or doesn’t it matter?

measure the opening first, then measure the opening again before you remove the old frame.

Then fit frame ensure its square and plumb upright, fit hinges to frame, and then doors to frame, using wooden wedges to raise doors to height required, possibly a 2 man job for a newbie.

I tend to do them to the door first but make sure you have the door trimmed to fit in the hole before you start.

One old trick I use when fitting new doors: put a 2p coin on top of the door then wedge it up from below so as to get the right clearance before marking for the hinge rebates. I usually fit the hinges to the door first but I don’t suppose it matters.

New doors need three coats of paint or varnish to prevent them drying and warping and should be kept closed and firmly latched at night and when you’re out to keep them straight.

Good point! The doors are being fitted about 100 miles from me but I have measured the existing frame about 10 times and the joiner has made the frame just over 5mm undersize all round to ensure it fits!
Wedges will be a good idea for the doors, I’ll take some with me.
Doors have already been fitted to the frame and the hinge rebates already cut and drilled. So it ‘should’ be a case of getting it straight and putting the screws in.
Luckily no painting required as we have gone for Iroko because the doors open onto a beach and get battered by wind salt and sand. The existing softwood doors didn’t last long enough really.

Teak substitute, naturaly oily and does not require painting.

Am i right in thinking door and frame already routed out to take hinges? If so you need to get the frame absolute spot on…
