Ian Brown at Margam Parc, late 90s not long after he got released from prison for his air rage incident, mumbling out of tune, out of time and too much attitude for the pics poor performance he was putting on.

Ash were also a bit disappointing but then it was after they’d released their 2nd album and that was a bit cack anyway.

Deftones on the White Pony tour at the Brixton Academy. I was really looking forward to seeing them but they were so flat and uninterested it ruined the gig really.

Mastadon were pretty bad live too – it just didn’t work for me, but I like it recorded.

I was never really into them but HIM were utter dog poo when I’ve seen them live supporting other bands.

I think some bands don’t work so well in really big venues – Machine Head were immense when I saw then in Brixton on the Burning Red tour but weren’t so great in the big venues when they support Metallica.

Papa Roach at Oxford O2. Rock by numbers. Talented, but dull dull dull. A long way from Last Resort.

I saw them way back around the time Infest was released and thought live they were massively upstages by Hed PE who were supporting.

Struggling to remember the bad ones, but one that’s just come to me is Fun Lovin Criminals. Mid to late 90’s – played a rubbish film at the start – think beastie boys sabotage video but trying to be serious. Went on (for days) at least half an hour. Huey then spent most of the gig trying to be some wannabe film star. Acting out Goodfellas type crap. Just awful.

Pulp played the following week and were ace.
