Hi, I have an immaculate condition black and gold edition orange gyro (one of the 50) that I could be interested in swapping for a Cotic Rocket, I know this is a long shot as they are very different machines but, would it be a fair(ish) trade? For anyone here that has a rocket what did it roughly cost to. Build?

Since the Rocket was sold as a frame only there is no such thing as a standard build. Some may have cost less to put together than the £2,700 that (if memory serves) the Gyro cost, some could have cost a lot more.

It’s probably going to be a lot easier/quicker just to sell the Gyro though and try and pick up a Rocket somewhere.

But now you’ve started the thread how about giving us a bit more insight into your reasons for swapping e.g. what don’t you like about the Gyro or think that the Rocket would do better?

I’m pricing up a Rocket build at the moment and even with using the bits and bobs I’ve got already it’s still going to be the best part of £2K so I’d say the complete bike will be in the region of £2500. That’s with a pretty thrifty build.

Mine cost me about £3200 in the end 😳

Since the rocket has been available, none have been on eBay so you might be better off selling and putting the cash towards a new rocket…

There isn’t much I don’t like about the gyro to be fair, but I’m a steel man through and through. The gyro was my first full Susser after always having steel hardtails. I haven’t ridden a rocket or even seen one in the flesh but its a nice looking bike and if I were to move the gyro on its what I would be getting.

There has been one demo for sale not sure if someone bought it

    Rocket frame

FWIW I think if you want to swap your best bet would be sell the gyro and buy the Rocket. A mate just bought a one year old Five frame in immaculate condition for £550, so my guess is that the change is going to be pricey.
