There is a National Cyclocross meeting in Derby at the weekend and they’ve got a "Cycle Derby primary school race" as part of the day.

I’ve got a 5 year old who is coming on but not a massively confident rider.

Has anyone got a little one who has done one? If so what are they like?

I don’t want to stick him in something too advanced for him and put the boy off!

They’re great fun. I think the under 10’s all go off together and do 1 or 2 laps of a part of the CX course. Nothing technical, just loads of fun. I’ve seen all ages have a go, usually with Mum or Dad running round with them if needs be. There’s usually quite a few youngsters having a go, he’ll be fine:0)
