Seems there’s some good films to slump into the sofa for over the festive period. Here’s what I’ve seen after a quick scan of the Radio Times. What you got to add?

    23/12 C4 11pm – In Bruges
    24/12 BBC2 9:10am – The Nightmare Before Christmas*
    24/12 C4 11am- The Muppet Christmas Carol*
    26/12 ITV1 11:15pm – Atonement
    29/12 BBC2 6:45 pm – Dad’s Army
    30/12 BBC2 10pm – Moon
    30/12 BBC2 11:30pm – Blade Runner
    31/12 Film 4 11:10pm – Sexy Beast
    1/1 C5 5:40pm – The Dam Busters

*these are a bit of a Christmas tradition in the Feet household, so that’s why they’re on the list

Not strictly a film, but looking forward to Room on the Broom and the follow up to The Snowman.

If “It’s a wonderful life” isn’t on, buy it anyway.

It’s always Christmas in Bedford Falls….

+1, the girls bought me a copy, so it goes on after the Queens Speech and if there’s a Sinbad film on in the morning then that’s Christmas heaven.

It’s a wonderful life is being shown at the Riverside Studios in Hammersmith before Christmas if anyone is in London and wants to see it on a big screen.

mefty – that’d be amazing and I’d be up for that if I still lived in That London. Fact is, between all yer mates DVD’s and bittorrets and what haveyou, tv listings are a bit old hat. I still like a bit of CSI though and The “V” mini series that I was into in the 80’s is on at 1am everyday now. Kind of crap but kind of cool.Organising time around tv listings is a very old fashioned way of doing xmas I reckon. I watch bladerunner too much anyway, but a bit of muppets wouldn’t go amiss.

Do you reckon in 20-30 yrs xmastime people will be going, oh that bloody Toy Story is on again, how many times have I seen that cheesy stuff and the graphics and special fx are rubbish! same old same old.

Muppets Christmas Carol is the standout film in the OP’s list.

Anyone else flipping hate It’s A Wonderful Life? I understand this is my problem as many of those whose opinions I respect when it comes to cinema say its one of the greatest movies of all time. I just can’t stand James Stewart’s voice throughout the movie.

More like the early morning sort stuff out while chef does the feeding. 🙂

Yes, I know I’m wrong. I’m just looking for solidarity with others who want to come out.

EDIT: ok. I’ll give it another try this Christmas then. 😛
