    I don’t want to be a bore but your “Control Mixed” “Control Soft” and “Semi Mud” groupings are rather a muddle!

    I’ve no business calling anyone a bore – after all, I did start this folly 😉

    Oh ok. They’re the same groups as we’ve had through the thread, just now I’ve made up names for them. What would you move, or a different grouping system? I know it can’t be perfect.

    Some in those groups are easier to place than others, e.g. a Kryptotal Fr isn’t a Shorty alternative. The Hillybilly for example is more difficult, Benji said here  “the latest Specialized Hillbilly is like a halfway house between a Schwalbe Magic Mary and a Maxxis Shorty, and is thus brilliant” – so as a tie breaker I used the two very close together centre knobs as an indication of more general purpose compromise, and put it in the Mary group. The Control Soft group lies in the middle in terms of how much clear space it has between knobs. You could put the Tacky Chan in this too.
