Anyone fitted a dropper post to a Vitus Nucleus 27? I was thinking of buying one for my son and fitting a Brand X, but one of the reviews mentions not being able to push the stock seat post low enough due to a kink in the seat tube.

will depend on how far in you need the post…. i had no issues on my 2019 medium, with a 100 then 120 seat post, cant remember the brands mind

Yep,a bit of measuring will be needed really. You can test seat tube insertion depth with a normal post. That gives you the max it can be lowered.

Then compare that and needed max riding height stuff with the diagrams of the desired Brand X. A quick Google will throw up the sizing of all the BX droppers.👍

Unfortunately it’s a mail-order bike so I can’t go to a shop and measure it. Hence the question. Thanks for the answers though.

Ask the mail order shop to measure it?

I have the 2019 version and I have no issues fitting a dropper. I could measure it to give you an indication but the frame may be slightly different for 2020 (medium frame).

The stock seatpost is oversized which explains the comment you read. If I hadn’t installed the dropper I would have had to cut the seatpost down significantly to fit. My 170mm OneUp almost fully inserts (save about 2cm).

It’s unlikely that you will have an issue.

I’d fire up the Wiggle ‘Live Chat’ and ask them.
