1/2 pint kronenberg topped up with diamond white, a shot of vodka, a shot of blue bols and another shot of blue bols dropped in a shot glass depth charge style.
Night Train was actually a black label Thunderbird wine, something to do with sales laws in the US i believe. Ace stuff at the time, Christ knows what i would think of it now.

This thread’s given me a weird flashback. Started drinking when we were 16, every Saturday we’d meet in the only pub that would serve us and drink Hartleys bitter (when it was good) sat in the corner watching Dallas on the telly like little old men. Totally forgot about that.
Asbach Uralt, there’s an unopened bottle on the shelf behind me. BFG squaddies ordered a pint of Asbach and coke, I’ve forgotten how many measures it took to fill half the glass. This of course was banned but if I refused they ordered a half of coke in a pint glass and an Asbach for everybody in the bar which just left me cleaning lots of glasses. I tried one myself one evening (just a double in half pint glass mind) and was hoooked for the rest of the Summer.
A favourite was Holsten Pils Satzenbrau, but the most memorable was Greeny Meanies, a snakebite in a pint glass witha shot of green bols and a Cointreau. bring back the eighties 😀 Edit, and being an ex BFG squaddie, Grolsch, in flip top bottles at 30 pfennigs a go!
