Yes, thank God the Yanks have impartial coverage on Fox News to highlight Trump’s racism. The shameful thing is not Trump, we know what he is, but the utter corruption of mainstream republicanism which looks the other way.

Can you give me an example of Boris racism that you don’t think hasn’t been widely reported in the media so we can google it and see how much coverage it got.

    try Picanninies with watermelon smiles.

I googled Picanninies + “watermelon smiles”.

15,300 hits on Google including every media outlet I can think of.

The Telegraph were (by definition) the first to quote it.

The question is how many people will buy into it.

    Less than last time IMHO.

Well it turns out he;s angered Mrs May. She hasn’t responded with a barrage of angry tweets though. She’s expressed her annoyance on the side of some vans and parked them in places where she thinks he’s likely to see them.

**** me, I actually agree with the Trumpet about something

Democrat congresswomen, who originally came from countries whose governments are a complete and total catastrophe, the worst, most corrupt and inept anywhere in the world (if they even have a functioning government at all)

3 of them are American, and their home country does appear to be those things

Shouldn’t we be trying to form an international coalition?

Vile thug in charge of a country? Check.

Poses a threat to international peace? Check.

    Possesses WMD? Check.

Fire up the aircraft carrier, we need some regime change.

I feel that every time I see a tweet from that ginger-nut faced bellend, I think Adam Curtis is going to start narrating what I’m seeing.

It’s all smokescreen anyway, tweet about this and get the whole country talking while he lifts the white house rug and tries to sweep the whole Jeff Epstein Peado Club underneath. I’m guessing from the safe they cracked open at his property there will be some pictures that old Trumpy along with others wont want the world seeing

Like the many institutions and deals the orange fart wants to reverse?

America is becoming a bigger threat to world peace than Russia or the Middle East.

The UK needs to stay in the EU now more than ever.

Wait until after the next election and certain states begin talks to secede (doesn’t matter who wins the losers will be sore). The resulting civil war will weaken them and they’ll be ripe for an invasion. Too bad it will be Russia doing the invading though – they’ve got to help their friend – a humanitarian intervention.

    Trumpet is doubling down.

The silence from republicans has been deafening, Johnson & hunt only bothering to criticize when pushed at the debate, but both too terrified to call it racism.

This kind of hate speech seems normalised now

TRUMP: “It doesn’t concern me because many people agree with me.”

And that’s why he may still get re-elected.

That Trump quote just illustrates Trump America, Brexit, BoJo and the rest.

Being a **** is now no longer considered something to be ashamed of. In actual fact, being a **** is the best way to get what you want and **** the consequences. Dark times, and yet (as always) people just slumber their way through life assuming it is all going to be alright.

The Overton window (not the cleaners) has been moved by Bannon & Trump very successfully. And it’ll push open further still yet. For all the people dreading that, others will be excited by it, and vote for those that allow validation of their own hatred. It could get much nastier still. Plenty of us have been warning that this was happening for years now. But, don’t go calling racists racist…

I’m hoping this all finishes slightly ironically with Trump behind bars but not separated from his children.
The two options currently are that he’s racist, or he’s using racism to distract from the paedophile scandal he’s embroiled in. Let’s see who wants to defend either a racist or a suspected paedophile then?

    Anyone else feeling pretty helpless?

Post about it on social media? Attend a demo? Stick with an opposition party that’s a complete shambles?

I don’t see any reason why it can’t be both of these and more. Dumb, racist, paedophile, rapist. A true multitasker.

Well obvs I can’t vote in the US election so in that sense I’m helpless. However, I’m 100pc optimistic.

Only a year or so to go before the election.

Are the democrats a shambles? They haven’t selected their candidate yet so they can’t really be united behind a specific candidate. I’m sure they will be. Two of the front runners are anglophiles.

The republicans have far bigger problems. They’ve got a leader most of them despise and who’s farcical leadership will give opponents a stick to beat them with for years to come.

Whatever we think of Trump he didn’t nuke China in his first three months and far from being an evil genius setting up a dynasty he’s turned out to be ‘inept’. So that’s good

If he does perform well enough to win again his second term will take him to 80yo. He seems in very strong health right now, but there’s a very strong chance health or death would curtail a second term. The 70-80 decade is one of dramatic decline IME.

Looks pretty good to me. Good chance Trump will be gone in a year, failing that a fair chance he won’t complete a second term.

One silver lining  ( if impeachment or keeling over from being ‘in very good health overall’ doesn’t happen first) is his last day in office will be on my birthday. Big five-O too. I might break the habit of a lifetime and have a party

Don’t be so harsh on yourself – you’re in great shape for 93.

Trump is way ahead in the polls and the opposition are in complete dissarray.

Someone mentioned the Overton window, Trump is middle America and has not moved, it’s the dems that are jumping head first into socialism.

He has done an splended job in putting their most radical fringe into the spotlight. They might be popular on Reddit but that’s not gonna win elections.

    Err, What?!

Of anyone in American politics the only one who is anywhere significantly left of centre is Bernie Saunders. The Democrats are central and the Republicans very right wing. American politics has moved consistently to the right over the last half century.

Here’s the NYTimes’ take on it: https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2019/06/26/opinion/sunday/republican-platform-far-right.html Basically the Republicans are nuttier than UKIP.

No he’s not and the Democrats haven’t even chosen a candidate yet, by definition they’ll be in disarray until that happens.

How do we classify Boris’ comments about Obama… dismissing him as “part-Kenyan” with an “ancestral dislike of the British empire” …? Does he describe his own heritage and loyalties (or that of any white person) in similar terms? I think the current language is “racially charged”, or just “a duplicitous shitbag”…

It is worth pausing and reflecting on what is happening here. The President of the US is encouraging crowds at a rally to chant ‘Send Her Back!’.

When Trump was first elected Jim Jefferies compared him to Hitler. When he was challenged on this (by Trump loving Piers Morgan), Jefferies pointed out that Hitler did’t become that evil overnight saying he had to start somewhere.

Of all of the Trump lows in the past couple of years, that footage of crowds chanting is the most terrifying I have seen. It shows the potential of what might come.

From trumps (and supportes) point of view this is a great move. These 4 women had started causing the democrats problems and the view amongst the more established democrats was they were getting too big for their boots and needed put back in their box. A couple days onslaught by trump later and the democrats have been forced to back the 4 women to the hilt and they have now become the face of the party in the run up to an election. How many floating voters will now be put off voting for these ‘commie’ democrats compared to voting for trump cause he is racist? I’ll bet a lot more.

That’s probably true. Trump has energised racism as a means to get/keep power. Scary, or what?

Anyone see the “report” on TV this morning about the racism issue? (I think it was Sky News, but I was flitting channels) – they interviewed some redneck who sat there and said “one of those women married their own brother!”
Either they kept it in the report to show who stupid and gullible Americans are, or nobody else would talk to them! Totally bizarre.
I can see some protests/riots approaching.

and they have now become the face of the party in the run up to an election

Right up until the point the Democrats appoint a candidate, and they disappear back into the US version of the backbenches, and the Democrat candidate gets to call Trump a racist bigot to his face on prime time telly all the way to election day.

It’s a dumb short sighted nasty and dangerous re-election policy. No wonder the Republicans like it.
