It does sound from the evidence like they were far more concerned about the gays than the unmarried straight couples though.

If you turn up to most hotels as a straight couple, they tend to assume you’re married once you’re past a certain age so I’m willing to bet they wouldn’t even ask the question.

    LOL @ project’s post.

“Hello, this is the 1970s, can we have our homophobia back please?”

I’ve never quite understood the idea that gay is something you pick up as you go through life

I knew a bloke at Uni who decided, all of a sudden, that he was gay. He was a sensitive, arty type, and thought it was the sensitive, arty thing to be. Someone who really was gay took him aside and explained the ins and outs (as it were) and he changed his mind back again quite quickly.

Careful. You’re almost following Projects thinking there.

I’m almost offended. I think (hope!) you misunderstand.

I did qualify that with, “openly”. I’ve no idea how many users aren’t ‘out’ or just don’t feel the need to mention it, and I wasn’t really commenting on that. All I was meaning was, it feels as though comments like Andy’s are rare, comparative to other arenas I’ve been a part of.

What did he think they did, stay up into the early hours of the morning playing Canasta?

Your subconscious and conscious self are always doing battle. If they don’t and the unconscious wins, men can often become opportunistic rapists etc

Best you continue keeping a lid on your urges then sunshine..

I for one am burdoned with the overwhelming compunction to French kiss dolphins but luckily we don’t get too many round here.

On the point of are you born gay etc. I know a guy who is renowned for being generally randy and keen to shag pretty much anything that moves. He also generally does everything to extremes.

He’s straight but he’s been considering dabbling in shagging men for a bit, just because a) it will be an interesting and different experience, and b) because it will make it much easier for him to pull.

Make of that what you will. Not sure if he’s gone through with it yet or not. 🙂

    A fascinating read thanks.

I think it all stems from an unfortunate pool-side accident at SeaWorld as a child when I slipped over and inadvertently fingered a blow-hole.

    I guess that’s what I should have said 😉

I’m confused. On this gayness scale, at one end I quite fancy Brian Molko out of Placebo, at the other I have quite a small and thin todger.

Should I be bisexual, to cover both possibilities?
