Not too far from me there is a pedestrian crossing on a 40mph limit dual carriageway which has a high level set of buttons to allow the local horse riders to cross without having to get off the horse and push the button. Well tonight there was 2 of them with lights on there riding helmets, and more attached to the bridles of the horses. What is a horses night vision like?

do the horses need night vision if they’re fitted with lights?

well they manage to wander about the country side at night without a Tesco’s torch straped to their manes and not bump into the scenery, so i’d gues their night vision was excelent 😆

When I owned a horse (pony 14.1 h.h) we never went night riding. Far too dangerous i.m.o.
But the Greater Manchester Police, often do patrols on horse back at night. Possibly not in this weather though.
