I have just got a Selcof Strada fork, removed the crown race off the old fork and tried to fit to new fork. It will not fit, so I thought maybe it needs a new crown race ( the whole fork headset standards still put my head in a whirl). Then I recalled something from some time ago that some carbon tapered road forks do not need a crown race. So any clues?

Hi Jupiter, I bought the exact same fork and had the exact same issue! I spoke to Planet X (from whom I bought it) and they told me that it does indeed have an integrated crown race…fits under the lower headset bearing just fine without my old plastic crown race. I believe it’s just worth checking your headset type for compatability (size and angle) also. Good luck!
