Just moved home and getting broadband and TV installed but only have an old analogue aerial.

So do we need a digital aerial installed and if so what’s the going price for a single and multiroom setup

    Cheers

no such thing as a digital aerial – just an aerial which is the correct band for your chosen nearby transmitter.

a decent local installer should cost ~£100 but they really need to see the job to give you a more accurate quote

Plug the TV in and see if it works, check signal strength. An old “analogue” aerial will most likely be fine.

About £40 from Argos and dead easy to fit yourself.

Weird to get nothing at all. Probably a dodgy connection but it could just be a really weak signal on an old aerial.

We got charged 165 inc VAT to wire up an aerial to our old house but in fairness they did need a rather long ladder…

When you “tried the existing aerial”, did you retune the set?

£125 in north London two years ago & £95 in Cumbria 5 years ago.
Could have done it myself but Rod Hull and all that….
