If they’re not they’re just potatoes. 😀
Battered chips – hmmm, that sounds like something I need to try.
Personally very fond of cheesy chips with extra mayo, and deep-fried battered mushrooms are pretty tasty, too, but I draw the line at anything that has chocolate anywhere about its person.
They really were very good. Never figured out why it never took on, bit niche I guess but very nice.
That said, I’m graced with the best chip shop I’ve ever known, right where I live now in West Yorks (and in my youth I worked at Hanbury’s, Torquay 8) )
I had deep fried haggis in Edinburgh, that was lovely.
my greasy spoon here in ayrshire has just added it to the menu and the haggis they use has really light in texture – its spectacularly good.
Yum, I’ll have to pop in after the next Catrine night ride!.
You’ll be lucky – they close at 3pm 🙂
The various eateries in the village are careful not to step on each others toes so Gavin closes the cafe before the evening takeaways open. The tiny chipshop next-door but one to the Bridge Cafe is good (and cheap) in the evenings – Dawn the new proprietor is a keen bicyclist too.
