Bought myself a 2016 Dartmoor Hornet frame a few weeks ago – still yet to build it up and wondering which size wheels to stick on it as its compatible with both. Any owners tried both and which did you prefer it with?

My options are to either run it with my current 26″ wheels and get the Lyrik lowered to 150mm, or sell the Lyrik, get a new 650b fork and re-lace the wheels with 650b rims. I assume I can’t squeeze 650b wheels and decent tyres into the Lyrik RC2DH.

I’ve got 26″ wheels on the 2017 hornet. It’s very low as a result. That doesn’t help you much 🙂

It won’t be used for DJ or pump track. More trail mincing (Woburn and trail centres) mixed with DH – I like mostly fast jumpy trails rather than super tech. Ride mostly Woburn DH, FOD and BPW style trails.

Cool maybe I’ll just stick with 26 then since I have it all and a nice fork! Might still lower it to 150 though, it’s currently 170 which is way too much for a HT!

    You can run it at 170 26 v 160 27.5

    Mine on 26″

Handles well with 160mm fork on it.

Really? I’ve never found hardtail feel right with a really long fork but willing to be proven wrong! The complete comes with 150mm so I’d assumed that’s the optimum.
