I’m a regular poster but I’m using a second account on my phone – it’s a slightly sensitive question so I’d rather remain anonymous.
I have a regular female “cycling” buddy who sometimes likes to go “cycling” with another of her female friends. They’ve just gone to Croatia for a week’s “cycling”.
My “cycling” buddy has asked if, upon their return, I will take them both “cycling” together.
Now I’m a relatively strong “climber” – I can usually manage 2-3 big “climbs” on an evening ride, but I’m a little concerned that this might not be enough when “cycling” in a bigger group.
So, what do you reckon? Should I:
A) Do a quick “warm-up climb” earlier in the day and hope I can manage 3 really long sustained “climbs” in the evening?
B) Lay off the “climbs” for a day or 2 and go for 4-5 shorter, quicker “climbs” on the evening?
C) Spend the next week reading Singletrack, Cycling Weekly and Pro Cycling and hope capitalise on raw enthusiasm and a fresh “pair of legs”?
D) Offer a more supportive role while they tackle a few “climbs” on their own and join them when I get my second wind?
The collective advice of the STW Massive would be greatly appreciated, and as always, I thank you advance…
