    Sup.
First ride today on my new frame, a Cotic Rocket 275. Took it to a very wet Forest of Dean.

Frame is a medium with an X-Fusion shock and on my scales is 8.26lbs.
I actually thought it was lighter than that after researching it a bit so was thinking it would build quite heavy.
I’ve built it up with some new Spank Enduro 28 wheels, Pikes, Spesh Butcher/Purgatory combo run tubeless, full xt 11 speed drivetrain, Reverb, and placcy Raceface pedals.
Full build weighs 30.6lbs so actually pretty good. Lighter than the 2012 Mega it’s replaced 🙂

The bike rides amazing. It’s so plush and an incredibly playful bike. Exactly what I thought when I demoed it a few weeks back.
Absolutely love it and in the flesh it just looks so God damn beautiful that I almost didn’t want to ride it 😀
The hoses are getting sorted soon 😉

    Awesome bike, brilliant day.
Anyone else get a Rocket in the post yesterday?

Really nice, they’re one my favourite looking full sus bikes. I really wanted one but found it to much travel for what I wanted when I demoed, if the Flare had been around when I bought my Scout I’m pretty sure that’s what I’ve have had!

How do fellow Rocket owners find it on steep climbs?
If there was one thing I’d say I found on my demo day is that on steep sections of climb I found the front end a little light.

Could be just a set up ting for me so I’ll have to play about with things.

On the downhill this bike is a hooligan! 😀

Works fine for me on the ups. I’ve cleared a couple of techy climbs on the Rocket that have defeated me on other bikes.

You can see that I run the stem low and my risers are only 10mm or so, which helps. Still, it’s not the lightest so I tend to just get off and push if it’s a silly long, steep hill – it is mostly about going downwards…

Can get a tiny bit wandery on really steep, techy climbs, but then so did my Alpine.

Having said that, I’ve only had the Rocket for a couple of months and am still finding the sweet spot in terms of fore and aft weight balance. For bikes that have pretty much identical geometry, spec and weight (as well as arguably very similar suspension systems, although this clearly isn’t the case in reality) my Rocket and its Alpine predecessor need very different riding styles.

@RobP. What’s that Orangey twirly stuff you got wrapped around your hoses by the headtube?.

Have had the big brother Rocket for a few weeks now and still loving it. In that time i’ve rode it over all sorts of trails and it’s coped easily. Even on full on DH stuff it’s ace. And it’s been washed more than any bike i’ve ever had (4 washes and counting 😀 ) though i’m not going to wash it after this mornings ride, so the honeymoon is officially over. Blooming brilliant bike across and especially down. Have noticed the wandering front on long steep climbs but not so much on similarly steep short ones so i’m putting that down to rider fatigue. I’ve still got a 5mm spacer under the stem so might take that out to see what gives, but it feels grand 99% of the time. It was properly christened last week during a high speed low-side crash. Seems the supa-grippy tubeless front doesn’t work so well on damp roads 😀

Just to add to the Cotic rainbow, here’s a red one

Yeah, that much I gathered, but hadn’t seen them before. Wondered if it was a homemade thing or not..n

@kayak23 … Looks awesome, I should get mine tomorrow.
    I’ve gone for 150mm pikes, yours 160?

I’ve been trying all the drop link bikes this week, I preferred the flare for the way it rode but the skinny tubes and low stack height put me off a little.
Hoping to build my rocket with a little flare.
