Yeah, the Maser does seem to smuggle an extra 2-300kg’s more than strictly necessary, hard to see quite where. In the Italian tradition they do get lighter over time as all the rusty bits fall off.
The owner has many other lightweight 2 seater performance cars in the big shed, this one is a spacious 4 seater GT cruiser so the weight is just about acceptable. Most modern similar things M6, F 599, Rapide are in the same ballpark weight wise but pack more power to compensate, which means they’re clumsily clapping the cymbals at the back of the modern car parade of wrongness…the same parade where 600bhp yet 2.5 tonne performance E-floats with limited range are currently warming up the drums.
That Alfa SZ still looks like its from the future 30 years on. As the model steps out at the Monaco casino you’d say it’s a bold radical yet cohesive design, a statement. So yeah, Classy AF.
