Can anyone recommend some Chinese carbon road wheels.

I got FarSports 23mm wide, 38mm deep rims and built them myself. They’ve been very impressive so far.

I have some 50mm rims with disc hubs from Yoeleo. Nice quality for the money. However, I can’t help but not trust them quite as much as my Reynolds assaults.
Probably my brain digesting the fact the Reynolds were £1000 more expensive.

on Mr B Richards recommendation/referral I got some Yishun wheels direct for Mrs Stoner. CC50 http://www.yishunbike.com/2016-cc-classic-road-bicycle-carbon-wheelset-p-1409.html

They sell via asiancycleexpress.com, which disappointingly looks like a scraped CRC clone site.

However, these are the wheels: http://www.asiancyclexpress.com/free-shipping-carbon-road-bicycle-with-2-1-spokes-ratio-50mm-clincher-wheels-2015cc-50c

and they’ve been very good. Mrs S rode them to 10th in the Euro Age Group Tri champs last weekend.

They do plenty. I nearly got DT240s, but went with Tune, which they don’t offer.

Would that be an indication of who manufactured the PX carbon rims then?

Far sports 38 deep, 25 wide running gp 4000s, very nice and not caused me any problems – ti skewer came loose on the rear – that was probably me not checking before my ride though.

If you’re going for a wide rim check it fits the frame – the about didn’t fit in in a Giant TCR

Noticeable lighter than my stock shimano RS5 somethings.

I recently purchased a set of these, so far very impressed.

I’m using farsports on my road bike too, brought as a complete build with DT Swiss hubs, happy enough with mine to have just ordered a another set of wheels from them for my MTB.

I went Light Bicycle ones last year and got them to build them up using DT Swiss 350 straight pull hubs. I have ragged the bike down gravel trails and they have stayed perfectly true.

Would have no hesitation ordering another set from them.

What brake pads are people using on these rims? Would zipp grey jobbies be ok?

Yep. I use SwissStop Black Prince, which are superb, if slightly prone to squeal if not toed in slightly.

Sn update for anyone thinking of carbon wheels. Just took delivery of a set of Yinshun / Asian cycle express wheels built up with DT Swiss 350 disc hubs. Not tried them yet, but do want to report thst they have a visible join on the carbon fibre. My Light Bicycle rims do not.

Anyone using disc specific rims? Ie no braking track. Has the tech moved on to garner any advantages?
