Chinese Mail Order Bride Needed

Before we start let me just clarify that this is a serious post.

My brother-in-law is 40. He is Serbian, lives in Serbia and technically owns his own aricultal wholesale business. In reallity my father-in-law runs the business, but is getting to the point where he is too old to do so.

My brother-in-law has so far failed to find a wife and shows little signs of doing so. He has no business skills and is currently eating himself into an early grave at the expensive of the business. My in-laws have tried but failed to find a business minded wife for him. By all accounts he would be a good looking man if he lost 40Kg. He’s also a very nice, albeit unmotivated person.

A while back I read on the BBC news website that there are lots of women in China who have put career before marriage. They have now passed the 28 year old limit and are “being left on the shelf” with little hope of marrying in China. (Seems to be a cultural thing over there).

My idea: find a Chinese woman with a good business mind who wants a husband and a business, in Northern Serbia (basically Anglia but with older cars). She would need to speak Serbian/Croatian and also English.

Does anyone know where I would even start without ending up on loads of dodgy websites??

How about asking the Beograd Chinese community? The communist past brought a fair few across, I should think.
I suspect that finding a native Chinese woman who speaks SerboCroat (as we used to call it) will be rather difficult.

Moses – that’s not a bad idea. There do seem to lots of Chinese in Serbia. They don’t know how many though, as there has never been a chinese death in Serbia!

If he’s Serbian, wouldn’t a mail order Russian bride be a better idea? I mean, I know I’m a bit of a catch and everything (hello laydeeeeeeez), but I suspect they ‘re not all sending emails exclusively to me

Just bear in mind when you order a bride from Asia, the return postage is exorbitant if it doesn’t work out…;-)

Wow Woodlikesbeer, you do have a lot of respect for other people don’t you. Buying women. Helping your brother in law to feel even more worthless. Glad I am not in your family, where hanging on to money seems to have more value than people.

The succession problem is very common where there’s a family business and the founder wants to retire. We have lots of African customers who started out as manufacturers in the 80s and have grown rich and now want to relax a bit and pass on the business to their kids, who they have sent to the UK or the USA to be educated. The trouble is that the kids, having lived in London or wherever for three or four years or longer, don’t want to go back and work in poxy Nigeria in a mature business with few growth prospects and daily hassle from greedy corrupt officials.

I posted a serious question about recruitment agencies on Cycle Chat a couple of years ago for one Nigerian customer who was looking for a young European to appoint as MD to run his business. I explained that my Nigerian friend wouldn’t trust another Nigerian not to cheat him, even is he was a Catholic and from the same tribe, so he wanted a graduate from the UK or Europe. Several members of the CC forum flamed me accusing me of racism so I dropped the subject.

He’s the thing, let’s assume there is a surplus of 28+ Chinese multi-lingual ladies with good business sense. China already has a massive gender gap with there being an excess of male suitors. So you’ve got to ask why aren’t they married? Possible reasons (though not limited to) might be-
A)Psycho nut job.
B)Isn’t prepared to settle for any old person.
C)Is Gay.
D)Isn’t really interested in compromising their life.

With the exception of A) why would they be interested in your brother in law?

He should go to China to interview the potential brides there or failing that go to Singapore, Thailand and perhaps Philippines. There are still some good brides potential from the latter three countries but need to be very careful in choosing …

Cinnamon girl, this is nothing to do with sleazy men trawling the internet/arranged marriages etc. It is about introducing two people who might end up marrying for mutial benefits, rather than love.
