Can someone carry my camelbak? there’s 50p in it for you if you do.
    I hate camelbaks.
Don’t think a gel, tube, Co2 and levers is gonna cut it Sunday.

Wow! This is going to be quite a gathering. I’m getting so excited 8)

Mr Poddy Master Baker we will be honoured indeed to partake in your offerings – I KNOW they will up to your and Mrs Poddy’s high standard 😀

RudeBoy – fear not Auntie C_G will take care of you again, just like I did at Swinley.

Just a reminder – there have been one or two rain showers this week which means trails will be even more overgrown 🙁

Meant to have said that if any of the locals who have kindly offered to help would like a gpx file of proposed route, please let me know. E-mail address in my profile.

    Thank you!

I might be around for this now – will ride over to the carpark if so. Also a local so happy to take sweep position as and when.

    Master Baker?

    How VERY dare you!
    😉

My attendance now is pretty much reliant on weather I can get my bike in the back of the borrowed convertable we have right now, as Kirsty needs our car for her charity work…..
    😕

Count me + 1 in too CG :-). Also bringing a troutlight along to show anyone first hand what a neat and small light it is.

I’ll mail you later CG with contact details etc should we get delayed… Roll on sunday 🙂

Damn, I would have been so up for this, but I committed to helping out on a Bike Week Sustrans charity ride. Still, there’s Gilles Pewsey/Marlborough ride the 28th, so mebbe see some of you there?

    Deano – thanks!

    smudge – what’s a troutlight 😳

Count – bad luck, will reply to other thread though.

Dez – has your hand not healed yet? It’s taking its time isn’t it? Must be so frustrating and that poor trailhound will be getting so unfit 😀

A few of us went out on thursday night and the trails were dry and fast albeit overgrown in places.

Not a problem though, should be good.

I’m finding myself unexpectedly available this weekend. Can I come too?

Have read through most of the thread but just need to check:

Does one need to bring food? Or just shnackettes?

Looking forward to seeing you…and Rude, I owe you a beer for all the devil-on-your-shoulder shenanigans!

Just bring snacks. There’s pub grub at the end, and a co-op in the village.

deadlydarcy – of course you can come!

Not sure what others are doing as regards food but I will definitely be eating my picnic (sandwiches really) on a grassy spot somewhere on the route 😀

singletracksurfer – your e-mail isn’t in your profile!

pedalhead – jaffa cakes sounds good 8)

Not coming now. HackneyRider does not in any way want me soiling his new motor, and does not in any way love me any more… 😥

dalepoint – oh bad luck. There’s bound to be another Swinley ride sometime …

RudeBoy – the idea of you being behind the dog guard was to stop you from bringing your London habits to the Shires. You won’t be able to wind the window down and shout at the locals, also no lobbing of coke cans/fag ends etc etc 😉

Do you want to borrow my singlespeed and I can pick you up from a station? Send me an e-mail.

I’m too upset. I’m going to stay at home and cry into my pillow. 😥

RudeBoy – Auntie C_G will look after you. You must come! Send me an e-mail.

ade – no, RudeBoy will be on an ss 🙂

I’d have been in the SS, according to a mate of mine. Not a very nice thing to say.

CG; I don’t even know where the nearest station is, and I’d surely have to leave home around 6am, to be in the Chilterns for 10.30…

RudeBoy – Henley, Wokingham, Twyford I believe has a good London service.

I woon’t even think about chancing that. Would I not have to change at Reading or somewhere?

No, you’ll have to pick me up from home. I’m too scared to travel on my own.

Dep Paddington 08.43, arr Twyford 09.33 and no change of train

    RudeBoy

Well, would Bracknell not be easier?

Actually, Getting to Waterloo is a lot quicker for me than Paddington, and simpler.

    09.09 arr. 10.11?

    😥

Have to give it a miss now. What a bummer.

Shagged brakes and possible hangover (but it’s the brakes that are stopping me, not the h/o).

    Arse. Arse. Arse.

    RudeBoy

No, DD, I’m making the effort, and so must you.

You won’t need brakes, anyway. It’s a gentle pootle, not Rad and Gnarly, Dude…

    Bad luck darcy 🙁

Ok, then if RB is making the effort, then so am I. Hopefully, the brakes will stop squealing once th’ve got a bit of crap on ’em. I’m sure there will be many skilful fettlers there to help out. They’ll be volunteering once I’ve had a few pulls on the fronters anyway.

    RUDEBOY’S ATTENDANCE CONFIRMED!

Thanks to the Lovely Cinnamon Girl! 😀

HackneyRider’s new car is rubbish, and can only take one bike at a time. 🙁

DD; don’t worry; once we’ve had a beer or two, we won’t be worried about the bloody brakes!

    I’m SOOOO excited!

I’d better go to bed very soon, as I had to be up 3 hours ago, to catch the train…

Hey – there’s gonna be a few STW forum legends riding tomorrow 8)

Get to bed RudeBoy cos if you’re not at the station I’m going without you 😀

Scoffing pizza & wine here, perfect preparation. Then off to finish cleaning the bike. Sad, yes, but I think I’m developing a bike-related OCD condition…

CG what time do you think the ride will finish? We need to be back in London for a concert that starts at 7. Would like to do this as the Swinley ride was such a blast. Plus I have finally purchased my new bike.

Two more late entries. We’re both local and will be riding to the start. Looking forwards to it.

curtis – impossible to say really but if you need to cut it short, there’s enough folk with local knowledge that can point out the quickest way back. I reckon you should be OK for time. Glad you enjoyed Swinley 🙂 So what’s the new bike then?

AlieN – can’t believe how many local riders there are!
