    ir_bandito, I'm with you, all STI levers are bonkers prices. I have no idea how they can be so complex as to warrant the price but frankly I'm not laying down my own green to find out. Bar end shifter works fine and is about 50USD

    still, if they were selling those levers for <100 I'd consider it, I suspect they're pricing so high because they know what STI levers go for

    Just put lower gearing on the day one cross and spin/coast more if it's hilly. 39:16 worked for me on the Pompino.

    To be fair I now run a fully geared Roadrat around fairly hilly Bath area.

    Miss the Pompino though and the Day One Cross looks ace.

    late to this thread..

    the Virsa's are pricey simply because they're very low volume items, the OE cost to us is scary for what they are, hence the Day One Alfine (grey logo-less bike pictured earlier) as a bike being not far of a grand if we do it with cable discs. there's also the fact that exchange rates are currently well against the pound on every currency the bike industry here uses.

    more on road.cc on that bike anyway.
