I need a pair of carbon bottle cages for my carbon road bike – obviously got to be under 20g each for bling factor, but also got to hold a bottle each and not break, and be under £30 the pair. There’s a few on ebay, and also Planet X that meet the weight and price, but I have no idea how functional they are. Anyone got any recommendations/experiences?

And yes, I will notice the difference between a 20g cage and a 30g cage (it is approx 0.002 seconds over a 1 mile circuit). And I know I can normally only pick any 2 of the cheap/light/strong combo – but there must be a cage out there that is cheap, light and strong.

I’ve yet to see a carbon cage that is in any way better than the classic Ciussi Elite.

I used the PX carbon ones. They worked but the bottle didn’t feel secure. I’m now using Arundel Dave O’s and they grip the bottles tighter than a thong on a fat lass. Not quite your price range but you can get them off US Ebay cheaper than you get them in this country, if you can get the yanks to post them for you! (Just bought 2 brand spankers off US Ebay for my winter bike – got them for £45 including postage).
