I've never cleaned car brakes, why would you?

maybe to clean off the GT85 or other such product that you've accidentally contaminated the disc with?

For what it's worth when ever I've needed to do this I've used Meths.

When replacement car discs are supplied with a rust inhibiting coating, brake cleaner is used to remove it. It will also remove spilt brake fluid.

    spilt brake fluid.

water would do that as well, it is hygroscopic afterall.

Still going with fairy. Have you not seen the advert with ainsley? As a bonus your bike will smell all lemony as well

I use holts car disk cleaner from the local mega spares place. I brought it originally for cleaning the new disks on my motor. Works fine with the bike and only £3.99 a throw. Perfect.
