TFT still saying awaiting parts. My bike is still with me until then.

Ashy, i will be honest. No it doesn’t feel any different.

Anyone else’s Lev not return all the way to the top? Mine seems to stop about 1cm from a hard stop. I can hold the button and pull it all the way up. Sags a little when you sit on it so I set the height to compensate. Just wondering if it’s normal. My mates reverb returns with a hard clunk and locks there.

Think that sounds busted. Mine definitely returns to the top with a clunk. Not heard any more about my lefty, but intriguing that Astormatts has been done already!

Astormatt’s fork HASN’T been done. He had a new Solo Air fitted not the new 2Spring. Check that receipt…

Unless that’s how they refer to fitting a 2Spring.

    I’m probably wrong.

Ashy, Pauls said the same. I’ve contacted Jungle about a warranty repair. Thanks.

My dropper wasn’t retuning to the top either. Reverb stealth though. Turned out to be an over tightened seat clamp. I was delighted it was such an easy fix.

Crazy, I completely loosened my seat clamp. No worky. I used a torque wrench to tighten and even then not all the way so probably not that.

    Ashy

I see you’ve converted your carbon 2 to 1×10. What parts, including chain retention do I need to replicate. My bike slips lower gears on the big ring – local shop thinks chain line might be out. Thinking 1×10 might help.

Cannondale have the parts now, ss t off quite a few now,all returned back and they don’t feel any different. Just as bad as they did before!

All the forks that come back come with a sticker on saying 2 Spring so that’s a way of telling if it has been done or not

Thought I’d check out the seatpost on my dropper (non stealth X fusion) after these posts, as it didn’t feel like the post was coming up all the way… not enough cable pulled through the frame! 😳

Pie, not sure what you mean by just as bad. My Lefty is brilliant. If it is still merely brilliant when 2spring is done I’ll be happy.

If I was to fit something like a raceface direct mount 32t in place of the spider, how do I correct the chain line? Can you go bigger than 36t at the back. I regularly climb brutal hills that have me down on the 24t.

I have an Absolute Black 32 NW oval with XT 11speed on my Jekyll- works a treat.

I presume you needed new wheels to run 11 speed though?

    eddiebaby

Nope, the 11sp cassette fits on to the normal Shimano 10sp freewheel

Ok. Thanks. Maybe I will wait a bit then go 1×11 with a new cassette, mech, and shifter. Wonder what the current XT 10sp front and rear mech, shifters, and cassette are worth used.

Is there a time limit on sending the lefty back for the recall? Seems to me if I send it now it’s going to be in a queue and it will take ages?

    eddiebaby

I doubt if there is a limit. It should be done automatically when you get it services. I don’t actually thinks its a recall, just it will be changed the next time they see it.

Cheers, whats the actual process? If I bob to Evans they send it off and ring me when they get it back?

Well I figured out what’s up with my outer front ring. It’s struck a rock at some point. Bent a tooth! Gah.

    zerolight

Ok. So I definitely need a new chain ring immediately given my bashed outer. Looking at a direct mount Raceface 32t or maybe an oval. Might as well switch the rear cassette too. Thinking of staying 10 speed to save cash. Thoughts onusing a sunrace 11-42 10sp cassette? Will it work with the XT rear mech fitted to the Carbon 2? What about the Praxis 11-42? Would I be better on 11-40?

I assume the direct mount the raceface can go on in place of the spider on the sram crankset? Do I need a different spacer? How do I get the cranks off? Do I need a crank puller? I have one I used with isis cranks aeons ago, but I presume that won’t work.

    Cheers.

I run a sunrace mx3 on my trigger and ms3 on my hard tail. Both ten speed. 11 – 42. Both with 32 tooth oval 104 bcd superstar narrow wide chain rings.
I didn’t need a crank puller for my deore cranks. My chain line is fine but I think you can get spacers if needed.
I’m running slx shifter on one and saint on the other.
    I love it.

This was a spectator day on the trigger. Chasing a capra and a stanchion down a natural rocky trail. I’m amazed that people don’t find the jekyll hardcore enough. My trigger is a baddass.

The Jekyll geometry isnt good enough as standard, sort that so you can start to utilise it and then the bloody thing cracks.

I haven’t ridden a jekyll so can’t comment, but i love my trigger. It’s the only bike i have liked straight out of the box. Does everything from marathons to uplift days…..
Maybe not the best in it’s class, but generally good at everything in my experience.

There is obviously no excuse for cracks on a frame.
I don’t think things are so black and white though. I think Geometry of a bike is on a scale between uphill and down hill capability. I think cannondale tried to do both. Doesn’t make them bad bikes but does mean it’s not a downhill specialist like the gt stanchion.
Some people it may suit others it won’t. I suppose this is why we should be test riding. ?maybe next time.

I thought Jerome Clementz won all sorts of Enduro races on the Jekyll?

Ordered an MX3 and a direct mount Absolute Black 32t Oval. Also posted off my seat post. Does a wide narrow chain ring need a retention device?

    crazymac680
    Free Member

I don’t use any extra chain retension. I’ve only dropped my chain when I’ve forgotten to put my clutch back on. This has happened enough for me to be considering one.
Yeah clementz does OK on the Jekyll. Won the championship in 2013 and usually a top ten finisher. He doesn’t run the lefty. Which is a shame.

Don’t have one on my 32 Oval, chain stays on fine.

Second guessing myself – would I be better with a 30t oval, or is the 32t fine. Looks like a compromise either way, and whilst I don’t go to my 24/36 gearing that often, there are a few climbs where I get there. On the other hand, going to 30t seems like it loses about two gears at the top end, and I suppose again, I don’t get there often, but I do get there.

Cheers Andy and Crazy – I will run without a retention doodah for now, see how I go.

Gah. Ordered the BB30 instead of the GXP ring!

You won’t need a chain device.
I’m running a 30T NW with a Sunrace 40 – dropped chain twice ever and that was an Innerleithen DH.

Anyone still using the Cannondale stem?…ditched the 80mm and now running a Straightline 50mm which makes it a bit more responsive.

    zerolight

I’m still using the Cannondale stem but on the Carbon it’s only 60mm and I’d not want any shorter. Thanks for feedback on the 1×10.

I’m yet to drop a chain on a narrow wide chain ring.
