Free cycle tagging event (17 December 2009)
Redland Neighbourhood Policing Team will be holding a FREE cycle tagging event at the below locations on Thursday 17 December 2009 as part of Operation Relentless which on this occasion is themed "Property". We have recently received some more electronic cycle tags which can help us to identify lost or stolen bicycles using the immobilise.com website. These tags are normally priced at £13.99 each plus the fitting cost normally charged by the cycle shops to fit the device, we will be offering these tags plus fitting free of charge.

Horfield Common (car park area next to the Ardagh Centre) from 10am to 12noon.
Somerfield Petrol Station, 106-114 Gloucester Road, Bishopston, Bristol, BS7 8NL from 1pm to 3pm
Clifton Down Shopping Centre, Whiteladies Road, Clifton from 4pm to 6pm

If you can't make any of these sites on thursday they will be in the galleries tomorrow(next to the old woolworths store). i've been working with them all day today and a sack full arrived this afternoon.

Damnit – I'll be drunk as a lord in Bristol tomorrow. No chance of getting there with a bike.

don't worry about bringing your bike, the last time they gave them out i just went down and explained the situation and they handed enough for all the wife and my bikes.
just explain to warren or danny the pcso's on site.

At the risk of sounding ungrateful, why not arrange a location on the Gloucester Road at the beginning or end of the working day for people on their way to or from work?

because it's dark and the pcso's would be scared of the dark.
i don't know stuart but i'll ask them for you and report tomorrow.
would you like me to pick up a couple for you and drop them through your letterbox next time i'm passing?

    Hi Taylor,

I only mentioned it cos I missed the last tagging session on the Downs. Obviously, being a one many crime wave this year I expect more personal treatment from A&SP.

Yes please though, if you are in the area and have a few spare (I wont tell you have many bikes I have left, but will try and remember to leave some jelly babies under the door mat)

    cheers, Stu

Flatfish – I'm rather involved as the 'cycling champion' for a large employer in the area – about 8000 pers on site. Do you think the feds would be interested in doing something at our location, or is this a Redland thing only?

I'll ask when I see them later today.
The two pcso's i'm with today patrol the Cabot beat ie st pauls and broadmead but I'm sure I can find out who you need to speak to to arrange a "visit" from the fuzz.
What area of bristol is your work?
Drop me an email and I'll pass on your details.
