Hi All,  any idea what tool fits this old clunker ?  For a friend not mine.

    Probably something like this…

I doubt that Cyclo FAG tool will work (I have one) as the ‘teeth’ are positioned at a diameter bigger than the BB shell. I’ve looked on Park Tools and others and can’t see anything suitable – used to work as a bike mechanic so I’ve removed many.  One option would be to weld a piece of steel square bar across the cup and then put it into a bench vice – heat and penetrating oil may be your friends.

Hmm, yeah you’re probably right about the diameter.

Maybe a chunky pin spanner? Though it looks like it might be quite corroded.

I had a ACS Crossfire freewheel with 6 notches. The tool for that might work as it’s a smaller diameter…

What frame is it and do you know what year? What cranks were in it? Might help us work out what it is

    A screwdriver and a hammer.
