Spotted a pair I fancy at a very good, but not silly price. Just wondering if anyone has used them and whether they’re legit or not.

I was going to offer the usual “if you have to ask” response, but looks kind of legit (contact details, VAT number etc) and the prices are tempting!

    Gary, pretty much my thinking

I reckon they probably are, prices not daft, Euro is strong, pics are genuine, not the usual fake crap.

If it is counterfeit stuff it’s very well done.

You could drop Oakley a email and find out if they are a authorised seller.

OP, would you mind reporting back if you get them/get burned. After a pair and just in my budget.

    Sorry to be cheeky.

I am tempted to take a punt. Riddoch, would you check with Oakley USA or Oakley UK?

Eyewear Outlet are legit UK outlet and code VIP10 takes 10% off – worth comparing?

Looks legit to me. As above also try eyewear outlet and one I’ve used mister spex

And if want to double check it’d be Oakley Europe

Anyone else’s browser diverting Eyewear Outlet to a website called Igero? It throws up big warnings using WOT on Chrome.

Eyewear outlet has rebranded to Igero (forgot that was happening)

Had a look at them. About 50% more expensive.

I got some from Bluenty recently (Radarlock path transition lenses, black frame) and they came quickly enough and seem the real deal. Thumbs up from me

Cheers. Good to hear from someone who’s used them.

Its the racing jacket with prism trail lenses I was looking at. Pretty sure the ones I’ve seen also come with clear lenses but these ones from bluenty don’t according to the email I just had. Still, clear lenses are not that expensive. Still waiting to hear back from Oakley eu as to whether or not they’re a recognised dealer.

Clear lenses are more than they used to be if you get proper Oakley ones.

I got a nasty shock when I replaced my Radar ones a few months ago, think they were £55, used to be more like £30.

What about athleteshop.co.uk? That’s the next best price and includes the clear lenses.

I cracked and ordered the Flak Jackets I’ve been eyeing up from Bluenty … I’ll let you know what happens!

I ordered the racing jacket tonight. If it goes tits up, I hope PayPal will come to my rescue.

Bikeinn.com are selling for similar sort of prices. Just ordered a pair of flaks so my optician can glaze them for me.

How do you spot a fake?

Probably a bit early, but have the turned up and look legit?

As for fake vs gen, I’ll be able to tell as I’ve got a few gens and a few fakes – they look identical and the oakley lens fit the fake frames. But the materials are different and feel cheaper compared to the gens, plus the lens are no where near as good (okay though for the price you can get them for)

No sign yet but its a bit early as theyre not uk based.

    riddoch

If you send pics to Oakley they can can confirm whether they are fake or not.

I plan to compare them to my existing Jawbones. Fingers crossed there’s no difference.

So, a response from Oakley. Bluenty are not an authorised dealer. Checking this with bluenty, they say they don’t claim to be an authorised dealer but they are a genuine dealer. So, today’s question is, how do you get to be an unauthorized dealer?

    Onzadog

Still not seen the actual glasses though.

Onzadog – they may just be buying stock from an authorised reseller in bulk or doing grey imports from somewhere cheaper.

You could always try to be cheeky and get someone else to price match. I got some Jawbreakers as I smashed my other riding glasses and ended up getting alltricks.fr to match against a website I found with them cheapish but that I didn’t know nor entirely trust.

Good idea, but a bit late for that. I’ll just have to wait and see what turns up. Just can’t see how they can be cheaper with an extra stage in the process.

Same with a lot of massive marketing-heavy brands.

    Sooooo have they arrived?

Not yet, they said seven to ten days.

Ordered a pair of Flak Jackets with Prizm Trail lenses a couple of weeks ago before I saw this thread. Arrived today. Look genuine. Came with hard case and soft bag and spare nose grip rubbers, all in an Oakley box. Prizm lens makes everything look happy!

And a box has arrived today. However, I need to change the bed linen and put some in to wash, then vacuum upstairs before I open it!
