After watching a fair bit cyclocross this season, I have seen plenty of riders in Bioracer kit, it looks decent stuff and I know that they also make Stolen Goat’s kit which I own and like. I can’t seem to understand how reasonably priced it is though compared with the likes of Rapha, Castelli etc. The Ineos Bioracer kit is actually more expensive than the plain Bioracer kit.

Does anyone on here have any of their kit?

How does it compare to the other cycling brands?

Our club kit is Bio-racer, I don’t really have anything to compare it too but quality seems good.

Not cheap though especially as the kids grow out of it quickly.

I’ve just bought another pair of 3/4 bibs in their sale. Love their kit – well made, tough and super comfortable. We’ve also had them make us some club kit which was really nice – jerseys and gilets (race and relaxed cuts and also kids sizes too). Bibs more comfortable than Rapha for me (not as comfortable as Assos S7 pad though, but more comfortable than S9). These things are subjective tho! I also like Albion bibs fwiw.

I’ve got the 3/4 Spitfire bibs and the “full protect” bib tights and they’ve both been very good so far this winter. Quick delivery from Belgium too.

I have a Spitfire jersey from a. few seasons ago, it’s my favourite winter jersey by far, lovely and warm, fit is perfect and the reflective detailing is great.

I’ve seen some of their stuff on Sportpursuit – but not for about a year.

Is the size guide for the bib shorts reliable?

Would be great if they made a proper MTB jersey – I don’t look good in lycra or XC type stuff….

Huge fan of the Epic bib, good compression, best pad I’ve ever ridden. Not quite as gucci feeling as Castelli or Rapha e.g. bib straps feel a bit cheap and rough, but can’t argue with the actual shorts + pad 👍

I’ve got jerseys as they do my club kit. Seems good so far but not really given it much time.

‘Er indoors has some. I’d say, compared to Rapha, which is – well made, sturdy, slick- and Castelli, – lean, streamlined, Italian – Bioracer feels a bit more middle market, if that makes sense. Kind of okay, but nothing special. I heard rumours that they had to rework the pad for the Ineos riders fwiw. I’ve used a club jersey in the past and that was also, okay, but not amazing.

Not saying it’s awful, but the reason it’s not as expensive as Rapha, Castelli and the like, I think, is that it’s not quite as nice.

I emailed Bioracer yesterday enquiring about the Belgium warmup long sleeve jersey that was worn at the recent cx world champs in Tabor, it had a fleecy lining like Polartec Alpha. But I couldn’t find it on your website.

    I asked them:

Do you plan to sell it? As I’d like one (ideally plain).

They responded this morning (very swiftly IMO) saying the following:

Unfortunately not, this item is not planned to be released to the general public.

    Our apologies for this disappointment.

Shame. But I do see that there is a few choices out there for a similar type jersey/jacket from PedelEd etc…

Great kit. I have many of their road items. Tights, jerseys, skinsuits and gloves. As well as Stolen Goat they also made kit for Morvelo, and a lot of national teams. From memory the quality of the kit was aimed at lasting 5 wears a week for 1 year or 1 wear a week for 5 years. I’d back that up. For a couple of years they made our road club kit. @didnthurt I haven’t seen the specific jersey you mention but the Tempest kit is aimed at shoulder season riding.

Thanks @shedbrewed but I’m particularly after a Polartec Alpha type (or similar) fleece one. I’ve a few other long sleeve jerseys but nothing for properly cold.

I’ve started layering a DHB Polartec Alpha gilet under a Gabba, which works pretty well ime, but isn’t the most aesthetically-pleasing solution I guess.

Alpha is brilliant stuff, but one thing no-one tells you is that it’s a very loose weave and as a result, it sheds fibres quite impressively, so the more you wash it, the thinner the insulation becomes – and of course you’re spreading plasticy fibres into the environment in the process. I have a mountaineering hoodie that’s now appreciably thinner after a few years of use and regular washing. Not a factor for more occasional stuff and I guess if you hand-washed it / used a very gentle cycle, it would be less of an issue, but worth being aware of as it’s expensive stuff.

My go to Winter jersey/jacket has been Stolen Goats Climb and Conquer jacket.  This is made by Bioracer using their Tempest Protect fabric.  I usually wear this in all weathers with just a base layer underneath and hardly ever feel the need to add a hard shell over the top.  I’ve recently bought a Bioracer Tempus Protect top in the sale.  All of my roadie and MTB tops are Bioracer.

Fair enough @didnthurt I have a ME switch jerkin that I use when cold, and the ME switch jacket is made the same way. It’s the previous iteration of Alpha so the fibres are contained within the garment and behind a windproof front with the sides and back being made from ‘technopile’

Specialized do their own as well https://www.specialized.com/gb/en/mens-prime-alpha-jacket/p/1000087918?color=1000093819-1000087918
