At the moment im night riding in my usual padded shorts with a pair of base layer/long-john type things over the top. Im contemplating bibtights but not too keen on spending more than £40-45. Any bibtight wearers out there like to give me some recomendations? or point me in the direction some bargains.

Look for the DHB ones on wiggle. They’re really pretty decent tights and only about £40

first thing to think about is how warm you are, or want to be. The Cheaper Roubaix types i find are fine down to around 0degrees, in the sun. But at night or when colder i find they aren’t warm enough as a result i have a few pairs for different weather.

As for particular brands, just try some on see what fits and go with them.

bib tights are cool….but I find them a pain when you need to go to the loo 🙂

I think thery are ace as well. I`ve always had them. I find having a pee is a dodle, you have to bend over a little and then just pull them down a bit. There is plenty of flex in them.

The DHB ones have a fly making it easier to have a slash al fresco. I’ve worn mine for two winters now and the pad shows no sign of wearing out. They’re fleece-lined and as toasty as you need for our winters.

Got some very comfortable Altura 3/4 bibs from Edinburgh Bicycle Co-op in their sale for £33 (half price-ish). They may still have some.
