Got a weekend of biking 8th may, gotta drop mrs off at Pwllheli then head back somewhere to ride Friday night/sat/sun then pick her up Sunday afternoon.
Two of us at the moment..
Was gonna stay at brenin but have ridden that a few times before so thought betws would be ideal for penmachno and the Marin trail or other stuff if its better?
    Cheers in advance.

Edit, don’t want to camp btw as one of the lads is a bit meh with the thought of that.

    http://singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/best-bb-at-betws-y-coed might be helpful.

We ended up booking here: http://www.snowdonia-bedbreakfast.co.uk which looks a really decent B&B. You can meet the Penmachno trail half way round riding out from Betws I think, but we just drive, it’s about 10 mins. Much rather stay in Betws than anywhere else in the area, it’s a really fab little place with good places to eat, and the pub in the middle of town always does great beer.

Last time out we did Penmachno and the Beast at Coed. This time heading up Cadair Idris, Penmachno again and the Gwydyr/Marin trail which I’ve not ridden for 10 years.

A group of us have been going to Betws Y Coed for our annual pilgrimage for the last 5 years. We book and stay at Swallow Falls Hostel. £24pppn and that includes breakfast. Not sure if they have rooms for two, but worth checking. Also can give this place a try http://www.thevagabond.co.uk If you stay I can highly recommend food in the evening from the Stable bar which is part of the Royal Oak.

Rides. I have rode the first section of Penmachno and is my favourite trail. We are heading up later this year to do the full trail.the second half has had some work on it and looks mint…

Llandegla is not to far maybe worth a look.

There is also a lop that passes by Swallow Falls hostel, Sarn Helen or Sarn helens revenge, it’s part of the old roman road. this is one we are also going to do when we head up.

    Hope this helps..

Not in ByC but we often stay at Plas Curig, the old YHA, up there in a couple of weeks. Posh end of the hostel scale, nice cafe next door for breckfast.

    Eagles Nest in Penmachno.

It’s bunkhouse prices, but more like a B&B in terms of what you get for your money. Pleasantly surprised.
