I was going to say Queen’s Live Killers, not as over engineered as the Live Magic album.

Good shout on the Big Country album.

Has Flashy been on to mention Thunder “Live” yet? Still the best British band I’ve seen live

Soundtrack to teenage years for me.

    EDIT showing my age too!

Unfortunately anyone talking about double vinyl is showing their age!

Didn’t include this as I’m not sure it came out on vinyl, but hey.
It has the worst cover ever but it absolutely rocks.
Thing is i hate Hawkwind, all that cold on the edge of time crap.
I was even there when they recorded this but left early as i hated them so much. 😥

If it’s live Hawkwind then surely Space Ritual is the album?

Agree with winston dog, the ultimate live album Thin Lizzy live and dangerous

Was Live at Leeds a double? AFAICR it was a gatefold but not sure if it was just one record. CD reissue had a load more stuff on it anyway, so it counts for me. The bass sound… oof.

And It’s Alive, and Live & Dangerous of course.

I’ll see your live doubles and raise you a live triple

Thunder are indeed the finest live band, mctd, but I’ve never felt that their live recordings really capture the quality.

After all, you can’t see Danny dancing!

Woo hoo, those were the days! Must have seen ELP 3 times. 🙂

Anyway, no triple concept albums from Yes?

Not a double, but a damn fine album nonetheless (saw them perform this at Aston Villa Leisure Centre of all places circa 1991).

the “wonder stuff live at bescot stadium” E.P. was intense(does this count?)
but seeing U.F.O with schenker and then without were best moments of my early life

I can’t quite get my head round the fact that come March, it will be the 25th anniversary of this sublime piece of work. Seems like yesterday.

Best live double album? Whitesnake – live in the heart of the city.

Absolutely sublime blues rock. It’s a bittersweet experience listening to it though. You wonder, completely baffled, how they managed to go from this to churning out the absolutely bloody god-awful hair-rock shite they we’re responsible for vomiting out in the 80’s, complete with the most cringeworthy videos known to man

Can’t understand why people like metallica when slayer are so much better.

In some parallel universe, certainly not the one I inhabit.
Back to live albums; Lizzy, Live and Dangerous, Purple, Made In Japan, Zeppelin, The Song Remains The Same. (Got an original movie poster for this tucked away somewhere, goes for around £4-500). 😀

Gotta agree with others Hawkwind – Space Ritual is the one for me.

Double album? Just shows a lack of stamina

    I love this one though:

“official bootleg” of their last ever show, which was the best gig I’ve ever been to. Actually quite ropey when you listen to it, but very live 😉

Another vote here for Live Killers (Queen) – absolutely my favourite Queen album.

Also +1 for Stop Making Sense, if it qualifies as a double album – I know it was reissued a few years back in an expanded version, but I’ve a feeling it was a single originally?

I’m going to upset a few people, The Song Remains The Same isn’t a live album, redubbed from studio and rehearsal room.
The BBC tapes are live (and very good, Thank You is monumental.)although theres only John Peel and a few others there.

DP Made in Japan, good althoughI’d go for In Concert
