Yup – did it years ago with one of those flexy corrugated stainless ones – copex?

60 ft of it IIRC – from a high chimney on a gable to the celler. smoke bomb / smoky fire in the hearth that you want the flue in to check which chimney pot then long ladder and drop a weighted rope down the chimeny – pull the flue down from the top. Easy peasy

Pre building regs or did you just forget to tell them? They're the one's I worry about.

I don't remember having to get building regs for it. 20+ years ago now tho. Might have been illegal.

Building regs just mean that you have to have things done in a certain way and inspected possibly – not that you have to pay someone to do it

If your not planning to move house and follow the guidelines you should be ok. All the ones i have fitted have been ok

To have it done is the cost of a very nice bike. Do it yourself is the price of a heavy night out.

Its easy to meet building regs anyway – check what the regs are and do the work to that standard. Then get it inspected

Whereabouts are you? I've fitted two, different sizes, bought the liner cut to size and all the bits I needed from these guys:

Yes, as you seem to be aware you need to comply with the Regs, again they've got a really handy guide to follow:
